So far, we have clear references to Wood Elves and Adeptus Mechanicus . Or the duality between life and Death: a field ripe with green life and a world without it. Or a double symbol of the human nature: we explore the unknown . Or maybe it's just a couple of random images, but that would be too simple.
Messi is a special player, no doubt. Even I (not a huge fan of football/soccer) like to watch him play, just great. Sure, Ronaldinho and CR7 and some others have shown similarly great stuff, but I would say that even they won't beat Messi on average.
Spoken like a Tomb King... Just as a thought experiment: What would it take to get you back onboard? Tomb Kings return (obviously, a no-brainer really) Tomb Kings have an ability unique to them: Eternal Undying Order (they get to march around in square cornered ranked units which gives them a bonus or bonuses) ... ... ... ?
Oh no... by quoting my secret message you have exposed it for all of the world to see. Honestly, getting me on board with AoS is virtually an impossibility. I only want to focus on a single miniature game, so AoS would have to literally defeat 8th Edition in my eyes. There are just so many things that I like better about 8th: the complexity of the game, the lore, the setting/aesthetics, the size/diversity of the armies, the magic phase, to hit and wound system and the lack of SCE. Not only that, but it would have to be significantly better than WFB in order to provide me with the motivation to re-base everything and spend a whole heap of money to play the game. As for the Tomb Kings, I'm actually happy that they are not part of AoS. Don't get me wrong, I'd love to see some TK terrain releases (I would definitely buy those), but I like the idea that the TK "refusing" to take part in the mortal realms. Settra does not serve, Settra rules! Plus, I sort of like the fact that the army is discontinued because it makes my collection feel more rare and valuable.
#2 Eternal Undying Order The whole entire point of that rule/ability just for TK is to allow Tomb Kings to keep their square cornered bases.
It would still feel out of place. Even with the square bases, AoS would have to defeat 8th edition... a tall order indeed (especially as they currently reside on the opposite ends of the spectrum for me)
I think I wouldn't want to rebase a whole army either, so yeah, understandable. Although when playing against friends you could keep the squares probably.
That's true, but even still, in my eyes WFB>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>AoS. So there is no impetus to change over.
Sure. I guess it would be the same for me if AoS was discontinued. I am used to the game and I like it. I would probably continue playing it and not transition to something else.
I was "raised" in a middle period. I played 8th (and also some 7th), so i loved the game and the lore, but also was not too much into it, as someone that was following it since 4th or 5th edition. So End Times was an hard blow, and the beginning of AoS wasn't great (to be very generous). But with my community doing the transition to AoS, in the end it I quickly adapted, and now I'm sold to it.
