I'll have a look into this when it appears on DVD, as with all the other series that are coming out on streaming services at this time. Rather miffed that the series isn't titled 'Middle-Earth: The Rings of Power', as that would refer nicely to the whole franchise, whereas with its current title it sounds as if it's purely focused on riding on the success of the three Lord of the Rings films and nothing else. Also I'm concerned as to whether they'll actually do the six Middle Earth films justice or if they'll give each faction a completely different aesthetic that looks jarring compared to their film counterparts. I honestly think that if GW had simply preserved a lot of the special rules and abilities from 6th (Ambush, Raiders, Marks, God Lores) rather than ditching/nerfing them into the ground, and combined them with the new mechanics they added into the 7th book (Primal Fury, stacking buffs like Bloodgreed and Despoilers) they'd be onto a winner - skirmishing troops that don't suffer any of the combat drawbacks to skirmishing, can Ambush reliably, take Marks of Chaos, have around 50% chance to get Hatred any turn and in some cases benefit from stacking Attacks or bonuses to Combat Resolution would perform a lot better so long as they remain adequately costed. This makes up the bedrock of the rules in my fan-made 8th book (as I aim to keep as close to official rules as possible). However, I also have some new unit ideas planned for them... watch this space and I'll tag you when the first draft of my book is ready for viewing
Bah, you're all crazy. I'm telling you. Unless Jackson is involved, it's going to be weird and woke. I don't like it, but it's gonna happen. Look what they did to Wheel of Time?!!
You don't have to tell me, I fully agree. The rumors are already pointing to it being a wokefest. More importantly though...
