I had never known the existence of a Bananaman TV series until my history teacher toward the end of my senior school years showed us the intro to it on YouTube. The rest of my class seemed to think it was 'just another naff 80s cartoon' being from a generation that largely gluts itself on trashy modern US sitcoms and Reality TV, but I, being a more normal person and having read Beano and Dandy annuals from the 50s-60s all the way up to the present, am far more familiar with the character and was pleasantly surprised to see he was another comic character that made it to a series (along with Dennis the Menace of course who's been in three, though only his 90s series was any good - the early 2010s series was a downgrade, the current one is an abomination).
