I couldn't agree more!I think currently there is only one player in the world who is better, Lionel Messi.
Yeah, I guess even he can't do it alone. He needs his team to a certain degree. He's definitely the best player in the world, helps of course he's playing in a pretty easy 3 team league. Let's be honest, he looked completely lost in that first game, let's hope for more in the next one!

Messi is a more complete player. They are both sublime goal scorers, although it must be said that on the whole Messi scores more impressive looking goals. In addition, Messi comes out on top in many other respects:Maybe, or maybe not. Some years ago sure, but actually CR7 has improved a lot and Messi is no more the absolute martian he was used to be (even if Messi at his top is superior than Ronaldo at his top).
Plus, I believe that Ronaldo is more a leader than Messi, when it comes to motivate their team. But that's an impression, i cannot tell for sure.![]()
I guess it was good for Croatia!Yeah what was definitely not good.
But then all the favourites seem to have a hard time, I was also disappointed by France, Germany, Spain and others.
Fair enough. I feel bad for Messi, the Argentinian media are going to descend upon him.Sure. But Agűero and a few others aren't too bad normally, I have no clue what happened to them lately.
Ahhh... good old sportsball... a classic!// looks in on thread; notes Sportsball discussion; leaves thread //
Somebody should invent a game which hasAhhh... good old sportsball... a classic!![]()
Somebody should invent a game which hasbaskets, nets, goalposts, and goal lines plus (at least) three different types and shapes of ball.
The problem is that outside of Messi the team is pretty poor. One man, even arguably the greatest of all time, can't do it all by himself.
He can be the greatest of this time but he cannot stand in front of some older players. And i am not only thinking to Maradona.
