Nope, I took a look at the climate data for Hawaii, and since it is hotter there than in the hottest place I have been (Corsica) I am not eager to go there at all.

Oh I am sure it is beautiful! I've read a lot about it, and movies and TV shows certainly show some of the great stuff there (Hawaii Five-O for example) but the heat would just kill me I guess. :D
(Also it is part of the US and the hoops they make you jump through to be allowed to travel there are ridiculous these days).
 
Personally, my place of choice is the Isle of Wight. The most sun in the UK, but still the UK so it's not too hot, and far less high profile than other places so less likely to be completely mobbed. If you need more convincing:

Depends. On the Big Island you can pretty much choose your temperature. There are houses going up alongside the mountain. As you move up in elevation the temperature goes down (for instance, when we visited the very top of Mauna Kea, they actually had snow). So you could probably find a house in the "sweet spot" for you.

Fun fact: If you measure the height of a mountain taking the elevation of the surrounding area into account, and also ignoring water, then Mauna Kea is the highest mountain on Earth.

Well, call me weird but to me the most interesting thing in Hawaii would be the volcanoes.
And for living, i would pick Canada over Hawaii every single day.

But i'd go to the islands on vacation.

They are pretty interesting. While on the Big Island, my wife and I visited Volcanoes National Park. It was very interesting.

Over here in sunny Hampshire, at least when you’re near the coast like me, you get all of that except less rain and wind as the Isle of Wight actually takes much of the bad weather coming from the south for us. If you go to Dorset, our immediate neighbours to the west, when it rains, it really does rain hard much of the time, whereas in Hampshire when it rains we get significantly less of a maximum rain level as we are sheltered by the Isle of Wight.

I admit though that the Isle of Wight is a great place for a holiday - I’ve been there myself.
