I’d say the only thing that makes the Guardians look faintly like Space Marines would be that mouth filter they have. Otherwise they’re completely different.

They put (IIRC) around 120 anti aircraft guns on it, because they knew planes were dangerous.
...the ship was still sunk by planes.
