Legion of Abraxas - IMG Heavy (update w/Kroxigor Conversion)

strewart said:
Very cool Ancient Steg - Chakax head looks great on it! How are you going to base him since the tail seems to go lower than the bottom of the feet?

I have another raised base from scibor to put him on that is like a raised pedestal. It should be tall enough that I can rank another Krox behind him (preparing for the possibilities of 8th ed. :smug: )

Here here primed on the intended base (which will then be mounted to a 40mm square base)

I am realy loving the Kroxigor conversion,
your bits just match up so well, and that
monster skull as a weapon is a bot of briliance. :)

I have to say the converted Howdas are a bit of awesome as well,
I wouldn't have thought to look to the VC for bits.
overall those Stegs are going to look amazing on the table. :smug:

That Krox conversion is looking pretty good. I can't wait to see what it looks like once you have finished painting it!

Wow! I am stunned by your awesome coversions. Having gone thorough each page of this blog and reviewing them all closely I just want to say you have done a fantastic job on both converting and painting! Please do continue on with those kroixgors as they too are gearing up to be just as awesome!

Sorry to necro, just wanted to point out this thread about these dips:

http://z2.invisionfree.com/herdstone/index.php?s=b0e6640571adf0ff0d5b4dd9fb445fbf&showtopic=17959&st=0

has some great examples and talks about lizardmen a little as well. I'd just like to mention that the author and a number of other people noted that the army painter dips take a MASSIVE step up in quality once they are matte varnished.

Have you tried matte varnishing any of your guys?

Seeing these for the first time I appreciate the necro. :p

Love all the conversions!

I absolutely love the extremely simple yet extremely accurate real life like albino skin you have painted. Thanks for sharing how you did it, I will now be using the same tech on any albino's I paint. Nice conversions going on too
