Hello boys and girls and welcome to Let's Get Motivated - August 2025

This thread is to get us motivated each month into finishing projects that we have on the go, the rules are fairly simple.

At the start of the month post what you intend to try and finish this month, it can be models/terrain/conversions of any game type. No pressure if you don't finish anything this is for motivation nothing else.

Around the middle of the month post your progress, no images please, if you have want to share your progress with images, upload them into your blog and supply a link.

Around the end of the month post your progress, again no images, if you have finished a piece upload the images into your blog and supply a link.

The reason I don't want images in this thread is too get everyone that takes part views in their personal blog where the community can critique, etc.

You don't have a paint blog? well get one started in this forum section.

If you need advice etc. post here and the community will try and answer.

I'm looking forward to seeing everyone share their progress

This month, I should continue with all those stuff I have unfinished.

-preshade all the Quar
-paint at least 10 Quar
-paint Quar tractor
-finish M3 Stuart and M3 Halftrack
-paint 12 mordor orcs
-continue on Taunar (finish at least one part to get the feeling about process)
-paint at least 6 Trench Crusade models
-paint crisis suit unit (without weapons)
 
I have finished getting my ~5000pts Lizardmen army battle-ready for TOW.

I now aim to go back over all the 5-6th edition models I painted 23 years ago, and update them to parade-ready levels.

I’d also like to decorate the bases of the models in this army (because who wants to look at an entire army standing on plain black bases?)

Once all this is done, I’d like to carry on kitbashing my Space Lizard T’au Army, get them table ready and start learning 40K :)
 
My goals for this month:

First up is finishing my entry for the Short story-contest, as promised to some members ;)

Next one of the following goals:
- paint a Kroxigor
- paint 2 Golden units of the Rampart faction for HoMM3 the board game
- paint 4 Uruk-hai warriors with crossbow

- read, vote and review the short stories in the contest

And what more there is time for

-preshade all the Quar - 16/54 preshaded
-paint at least 10 Quar - done
-paint Quar tractor
-finish M3 Stuart and M3 Halftrack - minor details and wash missing
-paint 12 mordor orcs
-continue on Taunar (finish at least one part to get the feeling about process)
-paint at least 6 Trench Crusade models
-paint crisis suit unit (without weapons)
 
Well, i'm actually on vacation so hopefully i will be able to paint something

Day trips can be a lot of fun and you get the benefit of sleeping in your own bed. What kind of day trips do you have planned?

The bridge by itself (a series of long bridges) took us a couple of hours; only my daughter climbed the ferrata... i used to, but actually i don't trust my right knee enough to do that kind of things again, as i would be in pain for the next week

Oof, one look was enough. I am nervous at my own flat's balcony. :D
 
Second update of the month:

-preshade all the Quar - 31/54 preshaded
-paint at least 10 Quar
-paint Quar tractor
-finish M3 Stuart and M3 Halftrack - Stuart done
-paint 12 mordor orcs
-continue on Taunar (finish at least one part to get the feeling about process) - chosen hand cannons as first parts
-paint at least 6 Trench Crusade models
-paint crisis suit unit (without weapons)

Whelp. I started Painting 6 days ago. I'm now at 48 out of 96 and six of those have Shields.

I will be finishing the shields as quickly as possible, and then moving to the second box of infantry.

Next week gets a little bit hairy because I have a medieval event at the end of the week, but I should have a unit of 100 100 in roughly 2 weeks time from start.

Maybe a little bit more to factor in basing material.
