Let's Get Motivated - February 2022

Well February didn't go to plan. I lost all my motivation for painting for most of the month, only getting some done at the very start and end of the month.

These were my goals:
  • Finish painting my Temple Guard command. - DONE
  • Prime my 2nd Salamander Hunting Pack. - DONE
  • Attempt to paint another 5 TG. - NOT STARTED
  • Maybe start painting my Clone ARC Troopers. - NOT STARTED
Instead of starting more, I started painting my next Salamander hunting pack. Hopefully I can stay more motivated in March.

Progress was slow but I managed to clear a few older items from the list.

Assemble:
Model of the Month: – Completed!
Morrig Crowcaller, Knight-Azyros: –

Conversion/Green Stuff:
Morrig Crowcaller (Combining Neave Blacktalon and Knight-Azyros sprue, greenstuff hair, base conversion, adding crow from Garden of Morr): –
Grymm Grundstock (Base conversion, top hats conversion): -

Paint:
Two Renegade Psykers -
6 Classic Dwarf Thunderers - 4 Completed!
Model of the Month: –
5 Vindicators (Astral Templars): –
Starblood Stalkers -
Necromancer – Completed!
1 Black Ark Corsair –
1 Skyrigger –

Base:
One model of the month –
One Black Ark Corsair –
One Skyrigger –
One Necromancer - Completed!

I'm afraid I've failed to to any painting at all so no progress :(

Some evenings I get home from work and I want to, but just can get motivated.

I can sympathize with this entirely. One thing that helps me is finding a YouTube video of a painting technique that I need to do that I feel I can actually do. This seems to spark something.

Also the forum comments on my blog help a lot. So maybe we should comment more on yours!

Otherwise, momentum is also a big factor for me. I try to do something (even if just 10 minutes) on my painting each day. Makes it easier to continue.

I started of trying to do a hour an evening and that was great to begin with but fell out of consistency with that. perhaps I need to take a brak and paint one of my other models for a bit to get the mojo back. Appreciating the reply @Lizards of Renown :)

No worries pal, we forumites need to stick together against the evil scourge of the Grey! ;)

I think your idea is sound, just try making a smaller amount of minimum time and try to get something finished during the time (even if just an undercoat of a model).
