Hello boys and girls and welcome to Let's Get Motivated - January 2024

This thread is too get us motivated each month into finishing projects that we have on the go, the rules are fairly simple.

At the start of the month post what you intend to try and finish this month, it can be models/terrain/conversions of any game type. No pressure if you don't finish anything this is for motivation nothing else.

Around the middle of the month post your progress, no images please, if you have want to share your progress with images, upload them into your blog and supply a link.

Around the end of the month post your progress, again no images, if you have finished a piece upload the images into your blog and supply a link.

The reason I don't want images in this thread is too get everyone that takes part views in their personal blog where the community can critique, etc.

You don't have a paint blog? well get one started in this forum section.

If you need advice etc. post here and the community will try and answer.

I'm looking forward to seeing everyone share their progress

Tension at work has died down a bit, so perhaps more time to hobby this month. My goals are:

- write a story for the Short-story contest
- paint the pieces of scenery I have created last month
- paint Elrond Lord of Rivendell mounted and on foot
- Finish some models to enter in the Feathered Serpent contest (able to carry this over to next month if needed)

I'm going to set goals high, seeing as I am trying to downsize my pile of opportunity:

100 infantry or equivalents.

Currently, I'm well on the way.

I haven't posted in a while and this is as good as a time as any.)
Due to the reasons I will disclose in my painting blog, I am in for a treat.
All I have to paint (to a passable standard - I would say lower tabletop - therefore cutting corners is fine, will finish all the unfinished details and correct mistakes later) is:

50 skinks (30 games workshop, 20 Jungle Awakening Kickstarter)
1 skink chief with blowpipe
1 skink chief with skavenpelt banner
1 skink chief with spear
1 skink priest with wings
4 Kroxigors
1 Kroxigor hero
1 bastiladon with crew
1 Tetto'ekko
1 Slann
1 Lord Kroak
3 terradons riders
10 templeguard
1 unit filler piece

I have until mid-February to make all these playable .)
 
Half of the month update:

Finish Land raider assembly - almost done
Paint Nurgle Rhino - half done since december
Assemble and paint third Brigand - assembled and primed
Start working on feathered serpent - 5 out of 14 models finished

My goals for this month are to paint two minis, and to organize the minis I want to use this year.

My half month's update:

- Finish some models to enter in the Feathered Serpent contest (able to carry this over to next month if needed) - (nearing completion)

I completely lost track of time and forgot that we have new month tomorrow. Anyways, final progress:

Finish Land raider assembly - assembled and basecoated
Paint Nurgle Rhino - not touched since december
Assemble and paint third Brigand - done
Start working on feathered serpent - all models painted, I just have to put them onto some scenics
 
Oh snap. I gave myslef till mid-Ferbuary, so still going!
I have been out of town, so no time for painting, but still I feel like my January was pretty strong.
Will do final touches and final count in following days, but:

That is still impressive for me.
