Hello boys and girls and welcome to Let's Get Motivated - New Year's hobby resolution 2026

A happy and prosperous new year to all of you fellow wargamers!!

This thread is to get us motivated this year into finishing the projects that we have committed to in our resolution, the rules are fairly simple.

At the start of the year post what your hobby resolution, it can be models/terrain/conversions of any game type. No pressure if you don't finish anything this is for motivation nothing else.

Around the middle of the year post your progress, no images please, if you have want to share your progress with images, upload them into your blog and supply a link.

Around the end of the year post your progress, again no images, if you have finished a piece upload the images into your blog and supply a link.

The reason I don't want images in this thread is too get everyone that takes part views in their personal blog where the community can critique, etc.

You don't have a paint blog? well get one started in this forum section.

If you need advice etc. post here and the community will try and answer.

I'm looking forward to seeing everyone share their progress

My hobby new year's resolution is to paint my Snotlings Blood Bowl team.

• 12 linemen
• 2 Fungas Flingas
• 2 Fun-hoppas
• 2 Stilty Runnas
• Two Pump Wagons
• 2 Trolls (one of which is Ripper Bolgrot)

Let's see how this goes!

This year will be similar to last, with just small adjustments.

"no new system" was removed since I wasn't able to do it in last years anyways.

Points were altered and changed to system instead of specific armies because now I am not able to paint during lunchbreaks, so it will be harder to finish anything.

I added paint at least one boardgame, as there are plenty of unpainted ones and kiddo really loves playing.

Also, this year I really want to base those lizardmen.
(Last line was directly pasted from last year, ehm)


Paint point value of systems. Full points below, point variants for 100 point system in brackets. Idea is to paint models of single system for each hobby goal point, so I can´t for example paint 2750 point of one system to scratch two goals.

-1000 (50)
-1750 (70)
-2500 (100)

-Base lizardmen
-Play 5 games
-Paint at least one boardgame
-Finish Taunar

We'll see...

Edit in first month: changed armies for whole systems and modified point values.

Painting
Malifaux Limited Edition - Rotten Harvest It's Alive! Box
Red Veil + Beyond Red Veil box for Haqqislam army.

Gaming:
Get 2 gaming nights per month, boardgames included.

My biggest projects would be:

expand and paint my Creations of Bile
finish painting my Tallarn army
expand and paint my Tomb Kings
expand and paint my Necrons
assemble some desert terrains

My new years resolutions hobby-wise are:

Lizardmen/Seraphon:
- Paint at least 3 models/units
- Create a piece of Scenery (For my 3rd Slannhood ascencion)

MESBG:
- Paint the last of my Isengard army: As it stands 1246 pts/ 1550 pts
- Paint some more models
- Finish painting tile parts for my Gondor city.

HoMM3 the boardgame:
- Finish painting the Fortress faction (5 models left)
- Paint the Stronghold faction (soon to arrive)
- Paint the Cove faction (soon to arrive)
- Paint the Conflux faction (soon to arrive)

This might keep me sorted for the year

My list is going to be short, but I won't be able to finish it all anyways.

Warhammer Quest Darkwater
- Get as much of it done as possible. Swap between heroes and units to mix it up. Half of the box is probably realistic for the year.
- If expansions are released, they get added to the list.

Spice it up if I get burned out by:
- Finish the Underworlds Skink warband
- Pick a fun miniature from my Darkest Dungeon box
- Ogre mini from an old Kickstarter.
