Errata announced so that unique wizards can actually take spells again. Also the article contains a whole lot of nonsense about points.

Pretty embarassin to post that drivel, given that the new points have been already analyzed thourougly. Slaanesh is up what... 27% or some joke?

Nuke that algorithm from orbit. It's the only way to be sure.

I have a hard time feeling bad for an army that had arguably the most powerful age of sigmar book of all time...

But even i think the new book + 3.0 points increase was brutal.

I don't know. This article seems to be offering what a lot of people in the community have been asking for. The philosophy and methodology behind the points values (whether you agree with those values or not), the news that they're paying attention to message boards etc, and an invitation to send in thoughts to the designers based on real world game play. It flat out says that they're willing to make adjustments to points AND other aspects of AoS based on community feedback.

Well, yes you can play around this ability and it is limited, but it doesn't deny the fact that it shouldn't exist at all.

Why on earth did we need it? Which shooting armies suffered from melee so much that we needed stand and shoot?

According to this spreadsheet the Hedonites of Slaanesh faction overall went up 14.84%. I think what people are upset about is less overall points than the points of some particular units and the loss of certain synergies. (By way of comparison, Seraphon increased by 13.11% overall.)

I would like to ask GW to show us that one messageboard, which told "new Slaanesh is so OP, please, nerf".

This concerns me for what our 3rd edition tome will look like. Will all of our scrolls become ripperdactyl tier? I don't think they should ever write "revenge" books, things should ideally just be brought in line with the rest

No, I am not serious. I just wanted to say that I have now idea how GW could hike points for Slaanesh and Sylvaneth if they looked for community feedback and actually watched meassage boards.

So does that mean Kroak can take a generic spell since he already knows the whole slann lore? Flaming weapon could be an interesting option to keep in the back pocket as a hoard breaker. Ghostmist may be better though. And is there a realm spell in the ghb?

I would actually like to see their new process/mathematical equation that fits every unit in the game.

Taking into account weapon range and base size? Abilities and Allegiance abilities? I don't know how much of that I believe. The example of the Tzanngors is interesting, but I don't know how applicable that is in practice as I don't play either of those armies.

If Slannesh is paying the price for their early tome, it feels like it's far too heavy handed.

They said they showed it off in a white dwarf, does anyone have that?

The only issue I have with their algorithm is that they count things like allegiance abilities globally. Which leads to weird stuff, like tzaangors having an inflated cost cuz Tzeentch has a summoning allegiance ability.

Similarly, certain things get an inflated cost because they can potentially combo. Ignoring that the rule of one prevents it from ever happening because there's other better options requiring this particular buff.

The basic idea is fine, the execution is just severly flawed due to decisions like this.

There's an old white dwarf article where they showed part of the excel sheet I think.

Kroak was one of the few exceptions to begin with, because he explicitly has special rules stating he knows everything.

But yes, that's essentially what the errata does :p

The problem is not the point hike itself, but the fact it is the point hike for an already struggling army.

We are no where close to slaanesh was, so i don't think theres anything to worry about.

We also benefited hugely from 0 huge in-person tournaments while we were at our height so our relative power definitely flew under the radar and was largely overshadowed by tzeentch, KO, Lumineth and DoK

Balancing the number of unique warscrolls in this game was always going to be an impossible task. I think they just need to be open to making more swift, subtle point changes and working from there.

I agree. I just don't think the army has been destroyed like some would say
