@ Ronisman: Drop rocks really comes in handy (usually as a quick turn 1 strike against castle gunlines like Tsunami was saying), and they can stomp, too (not against war machines, though). In large groups of terries this is nasty but it's not the end all be all, and I don't mind ditching them for something more useful. Similar goals as chameleons, just different ways of cracking that nut. It's usually a big enough deal for me to shut down war machines that I'll take both means to that end. Terries work great for charging in and tying up gunlines in CC that would normally carve up chameleons, letting the chameleons run rampant. They don't have to win CC and crush all before them, just keep the pther guy occupied and not firing their blunderbusses or repeater crossbows or whatever. They complement each other well, and it's nice that terries can fly right over units at will. Also, you can march 20" and still drop rocks :D If shutting down shooting is of secondary concern for you, I'd take one or the other. It's important enough to me with my skink lists that I take both. If I was doing a typical slann & saurus list, I wouldn't do it.
They're good for "sniping" lone mages with drop rocks, too: The non-template "Look Out, Sir!" roll is only a 4+ save per hit. With a unit of 4 terries usually a few rocks will get through and a small volley of poison from the riders will probaby finish them off. Fly in and stomp the mage instead of shooting javs if you really want to make sure. And you'd be surprised how many times the other guy measures for "LoS!" and that mage is really 3 1/4" from the nearest unit...Awwwwww, too bad! Take all your hits, sucka. I usually use a skink hero to cast blood statuette on them, then terries to finish them off (if he even survived the statuette). :bored:
You can do the reverse, too. Try and assassinate with terries, and if they fail then cast statuette in your next magic phase, but with magic coming first in the turn it plays out better to do the terries last.

    Hello,
I love Skink Lists, the only problem is that i don't have enough:(
And you could use Slann because there is a skink there too:) One of the best players in my regon has only 12 Saurus in a 2400 point army list, just for the B&G and because he dosen't have enough kohort skinks:)
His Core is 3x10 Skink Skirmisher and 3x16 Skink Kohort and he has 3x8 Chamelon and 2x4 Terradons (Etc Rules where you can only have 3 Skirmisher units of the same type..:)

I am fairly certain that there is no "Lord" and no "Hero" pool, there is only Character pool.

    up to 25% Chars,
    min. 25% Core,
    up to 50% Special,
    and up to 25% Rare

    Correct me if i'm wrong.

8th edition removed that restriction. You can now have 25% from lords and heroes.
