Lizardmen / AS Weaponry

Hi!
I've been thinking about the weapons of the Saurian Ancients. As the general aesthetics of the army is heavily inspired by pre-colombine cultures, i've tried to reflect that into the weapons of my army.
I've done it by cutting little curved shapes in some parts of the weapons, making them look like they are some kind of stone/ceramic, like obsidian or jade (that will depend in how i paint it).
I'll post some pictures of how are the blades of the weapons now very soon
I hope you like it. It's not very complicated or time consuming, but it looks kind of cool

Here they are. I hope you like the idea, and it will probably look much better after painting them (when i will do that, i don't know, as i'm really pushed towards assembling and converting right now, to have an army ready for a campaign that i'm doing with some friends )

I wanted them to look like roughly carved stone, as if they were kind of ceramic blades made with slabs of obsidian, and the structure is reinforced by the metal ledge. The spikes are supposed to be also made of obsidian, like if they had shaped a one piece blade and then reinforced with metal the part they are hitting with.

I'm using this, and also big ammounts of patience to do it with all the swords, axes, lances, spears... of my army

What if you make molds and cast them? that way you don´t have to spend precious time on carving for your whole army. It´s your own creation, so I don´t think there´ll be any problem

I have thought about it, but i must say.... I suck casting thins or making molds
Besides, i like them to look all differently carved, that way feels more realistic hehehe

I really like it!
When these models came out with 6th Edition, the idea behind their design was that the Lizardmen were advanced and powerful, using stone-like materials that were just as strong as any metal. It left behind the "primitive" feel that 5th edition created for them, and embraced a little more "enlightened" interpretation of the Mayans and Aztecs. Subsequent editions, and, it seems, T9A, have moved them back into a more primitive sort of feel, but using tools and techniques that are remnants of a long-lost golden age.

For myself, I like the more enlightened take on the Lizardmen. But if you like the rougher look for them, I think you've done a really great job with these weapons. They already look great, and will look fantastic and unique when painted.

I like them being in a half way between advanced and primitive. They have metal support for their special stone blades, but i also like them being able to think that if their ceramic blade is sharper than a metal one, why don't use it for the blade, so i wanted to make it have a texture more similar to the carved stone
