    So....
Did anyone here buy WD 47 (or was it 48?) with the Lizardmen ET story in it? Is it worth the $4 to buy it? I haven't been to my local store in a while and wonder if its worth the 45 min drive some time to pick it up.

I've read what is said in this thread...is there anything else within the story that hasn't already been mentioned?

Good luck. Call ahead. It sold out before it was technically allowed to be put on the shelf at my local store. It had a free set of 40K cards in it...so it sold.

I read it, but didn't buy it, to be honest not worth the $4, if it's jut the story/snippet you're after.

It's written from the point of view of the head slann of Tlaxtlan (Adohi-Tehga) as he uses his spirit form to travel (has a quick mental tangle with Slaanesh, but manages to resist and return to his body). He then instructs that "the golden crest one" (skink unique to each temple city), starts the sequences in depths of the temple city for activation.

All other temple cities likewise are doing the same thing at the same time, as Mazdamundi issued the final proclamation that they had failed the Old Ones plans and the world is now beyond the point of saving and so there is no more point in staying.

I'm expecting the Temple Cities to take to the skies but somethings going to go wrong and one of them is going to crash into the Old World or something.

This from Archibald over on Warseer- just read point 3!

    - Apparently Ikkit successfully manage to poison the halls of that Dwarf Slayer City.
    - A massive Skaven army is laying siege to Karaz-a-Karak
    - Skavens activate some kind of machine, causing a meteoric rain to annihilate Itza. It is said that the Slaans start the Exodus at that point.

So that's Lord Kroak potentially gone. Do any other named characters live in Itza?

So Itza, Kroak and several other characters are now dead?
Aside from the fact that goes against the fluff that claims Itza to be the keystone of the power nexus, therefore its destruction would prevent the other temple cities from taking off, because the power lines would be broken (nice contradiction there...), seriously GW?

As always, will reserve judgement for the books(s), will keep Lizardman army and (now) will almost certainly turn out numerous Lizardman sculpts for other companies, because now GW appear to either be scrapping Lizardmen (or having them vanish into goodness knows where), it looks like your IP is becoming weaker than ever.

Glad I decided to spend $50 on Tetto'eko instead of Kroak last week.

I am actually a little surprised that anyone is buying any Warhammer models at the moment. With the rules in flux, and no indication of any future rules support - or even that there will be rules at all - I can't see why people have any confidence in any purchase of models currently.

There's several better rulesets than WFB out there but a lot of the GW sculpts look nice. 28mm is 28mm.

    I feel the same way.

I was going to work on a fun Kroq-Gar list, but not knowing whether Kroq-Gar will exist in a month, or what rules the Lizardmen will have, I decided to hold off on any purchases and see how the End Times pans out.

In my gaming environment stuff nobody likes is houseruled.
If the rules go haywire, our community will deal with it ourselves.

it can be a drag sometimes, as we don't ALWAYS agree whats fun and whats not
but for these circumstances its a perfectly acceptable fail-safe.

I just decided, if lizzies gets scrapped (I dont fear they do)
I will use them as count as models, and from that point on lose ALL form of customer loyalty towards GW.
That means: I will no longer stop myself from looking at re-casters.

    S on me, I S on you.

I'd probably figure something out if they pull this. Probably just continue using 8th edition rulebook.

I highly doubt it, though. I don't think they'll be scrapping anything.

Otherwise, I still have a Skaven army, and my skinks are already used as slaves there :D So at least some of my army would still see some use :p

Yeah. Screw them. Just like when Hershey discontinued my favorite candy bar and I decided it was ok to rob their delivery trucks from now on....

    ....or not.

Come on, you're better than that.

The one thing I do wish I knew during End Times is if all these cool new models will be legal in "normal" non-End Times games at some point or post End Times. Will they be in the new army books or do you have to use End Times rules to play them? Is End Times collectively the new edition? We don't really know and that is frustrating if you are looking long term. Lots of people don't want to spend 100$ on a model they can only use is special rules games.

But I really would recommend not getting sucked into the doom and gloom. The army will change - but keep in mind that ALL of the armies are changing. Some of our characters may die. Honestly, they could take Mazdamundi since they never bothered to make a model for the guy it isn't such a major loss for me. The loss of some characters may make room for new and exciting ones. Hopefully no one will be left out in the cold. The continuation of the story leaves the army open for a ton of possibilities - most of them very exciting and very cool.

Woah. We don't know the full ramifications of the book yet, let's not toll doom on the Screaming Bell too much yet ;)

Some of our characters will die. We'll probably leave Lustria (I'm cautiously hoping for some "City in the Sky"-esque civilisation next, based around an expanded Albion. Floating Pyramids have been in our fluff for a few editions now!). But, I think it's unlikely we'll be discontinued - DINOSAWZ are too much of a good pull on the market ;p
Iif we *do* survive, then our army will be in need of expanding to deal with the UL/LoC/HotEK, and with the Great Plan gone the Slann have free reign to spawn what they want. Good-bye rigid caste system ;D

With the Vortex gone, our Geomantic Wed probably won't survive for sure. However, the WD article suggests that each pyramid has it's own Exodus Engine, and it's own Golden Crested Spawning, and thus it's own power source?

Quite. A lot of the models look lovely, it'd be a great shame to lose Nagash, the new Verminlords etc. I'm hoping they keep on a Lord(+) tier for the 9th edition.

Sometimes I just like to pretend that im not..

Just finished reading "End Times Khaine"

I would like to pair some info for your own deduction:

    1.
Teclis feels this when he tries to bind the winds, and Heavens gets away
    -->
"his mind had sensed an intelligence at work within Azyr's essence. The Presence was familiar yet alien
and for a moment Telis was struck with wonder"

    2. Slaanesh interferes with the whole thing (or the "hole thing" if you willl)

    3. There is a part (or so Ive heard)
in the new White Dwarf that shortly tells that Adohi-Tehga has a momentary conflict with Slaanesh
    during some telepathic action.

    =
My guess is that he in fact chose Karl Franz, as it was the necessary choice for victory at that time.

    and 4.

Kairos mentions to Archaon that the "elder races hasn't laid silent".

all combined, im feeling more and more certain that Lizardmen will receive
more than just 15 minutes of fame in the end times.

I'm hoping for the exact opposite. Combining Lords/Heroes into one category may fix the over-saturation of characters that can be seen now in the ET games. To me, the below would a a welcome adjustment to some medium ground between original 8th. Ed. army composition rules and ET army composition rules.
    Characters: 60% Max
    Core 25% Min.
    Special 10% Min. 60% Max.
    Rare 30% Max.

This is purely my own wishlisting. An attempt to increase use of all the fun characters/monsters available, but limiting the monster-mash possibilities through army composition (the army's fluff supporting the required use of more common unit types in special).

I am still maintaining my opinion I posted back in October. The world is going to end, the Lizardmen are going to open a portal to a new world/dimension.

    *SPOILER*

The End Times Khaine essentially establish this as a possibility. Lileath creates a dimensional doorway to a 'haven' free of Chaos for her child and lover. She talks about how its all a cycle and that the world starts out with a creator arising during the end times, and then they start over in a new place until Chaos eventually and inevitably tears its way in. This in turn leads to another End Times.

    *END SPOILER*

So my guess is that since the Lords+ show different profile types than what is currently standard (no reason to really do this unless they are testing the water, or have already decided it should be this way moving forward), that this is going to be a template for what is to come. Since this is the End Times, we should be given either a short series about this new world getting set up leading up to 9th, or we will probably have end time's characters legal the 'Founding' characters of the new world getting a similar makeover for 9th.

Seems like a reasonable thing, since half the characters in most of the army books were already dead before End Times anyhow.
