The group moves forward down the west most tunnel, nearly immediately the come upon a decayed wooden door. Cracks and holes riddle the door, however you cannot see forward into the darkness of the room ahead direct light into the holes.
Huaroc looked back to see if the rest of the group was prepaired for anything directly beyond the doorway. Seeing that all were hefting their weapons he gingerly opened the door as quietly as he possibly could, he didn't think he'd be able to get any shots off from his trusted blow pipe if anything was on the otherside of the door so he had his javlin at the ready, defensively in case something surprised them.
It was best to be as silent as possible in the caves, who knew what you might awaken? Huaroc opened the door, and the rest were ready and waiting for action. Even Ilok. The Hunted
Hexec brushed himself off and weakly rose to his feet. He arrived at the door and looked in, but remained hesitant, his near death experience weighing heavily on his heart. He waited for the group, preparing himself to what could be waiting in the darkness.
As the door is opened light shines in, a guttural moan echos, followed by another and another, and another. From the dark of the room ahead, four ghouls rushed forward. Their pale skin a vast reflection on the darkness, they hurried towards the group with a cannibalistic hunger. A ghoul lunged at Ax-rodriq. Hefting his shield, the Saurus parried the creature's swipes, knowing that even a superficial scratch from its filthy claws could become fatally infected. Unquestionably, Ax-rodriq was significantly stronger than his foe, but the abomination was startlingly fast, and fought with an unexpected ferocity. A swipe from his sword finally clove the beast in two at the waist, but it hardly seemed to register what had happened. Still scratching feebly at Ax-rodriq, the ghoul began to crawl towards him. The Saurus cooly pinned the beast's torso beneath his mighty foot and severed its head with another swipe of his sword. The body convulsed briefly, and then stopped moving altogether.
Huaroc, ready with his Javlin would have liked to have hurled it at one of the slimy and gangly beasts but knew that in a fight like this it would be unwise to throw away a weapon which held better fighting advantage than the small dagger he kept at his belt. Using the door was a shield of sorts to defect in coming attacks Huaroc brased one foot against the wall and waited for three of the ghouls to pass. Then lunging out Huaroc extended his javlin's spear tip towards the last ghoul. He wasn't very experianced in hand to hand and so knew only to strike the largest part of the body. Through luck the javlin rickochetted off the breast bone of the creature and then sunk into the neck of the beast. Because of Huaroc's forward momentum the javlin's tip carried it through the sunken flesh before lodging between two vertebra where it severed the spinal column. The creature fell to the floor and it's own weight ripped the javlin from it's flesh and Huaroc was left slightly surprised by the sudden kill in close combat but knew the danger around and had the sense to close the door in case something else followed behind the ghouls. ((-10 Battle Points))
Ilok looked for alternative ways to kill a ghoul, as magic was not an option here. He sprinted towards the door, caught the attention of a ghoul who then chased Ilok through the door. A surprise slam with the door by Ilok caused the Ghoul to stumble around for a brief moment. Ilok seized this opportunity by taking a dagger from Huaroc and picking up a stone. He threw the knife in the head of the ghoul, wounding the beast severely. Ilok then threw the stone right at the knife, which caused the knife to go all the way through the Ghoul's head; thus killing it instantly. "Sorry about the knife", Ilok said to Huaroc. ((-6 skill))
Hexec was still weak from the crushing rock, but knew he needed to help with the fight. Knowing that engaging in hand to hand combat with the goal would only end badly for him in his current weakened state, he knew that he would have to kill it from range. Dipping one of his javelins in the poison they had obtained, he reasoned that this poison should be enough to stop the ghoul in his tracks. Hefting his javelin, he hurled it towards the last ghoul, piercing it in the head. The ghoul continued to move, but as the poison began its work, the ghoul stumbled and fell the poison taking it down. ((-6 Skill. We still have some uses on that poison right?))
((Yeah I think that was the first used, you each have 10 uses to stat and it lasts the rest of the day. So you only used 3 skill because of that. The Poison half's the requirements.))
The group enters the room, it is dark and damp. The air is think and putrid, around are skulls, bones, rotting flesh and droppings. There is another door straight ahead from the other, it is fashioned much the same as the opposite door, however a flickering light can be seen through the cracks of this door.
Huaroc approaches the doorway and kicks the rancid rotted bones and flesh and putrifaction out of the way and gets down on his belly so that he can see through the crack between the doorway and the floor so find out the sourse of the light and whom may be on the other side so that the party may be better prepaired.
((could have sworn I posted this)) Peering through the cracks in the door you can see torch brackets on either side of a stone hall; at the end the hall branches left and right, which is the extent of your view from the door.
((No worries)) Huaroc stands and reports the findings as he'd seen them. With a nod from the others he once again took up the mantle of the Banner of llok and openned the doorway. With the torchlight making it difficult for Huaroc to hide he allowed the larger of his company pass ahead of him but remained in the middle so the banner's magic would encompass them all.
Ilok got tired of all these branches, he didn't have any particular feeling with left of right. He felt it didn't really matter, so he proposed to go right. (+magic!)
Huaroc nodded at the command of the group's leader and shifted to the right. He still allowed the saurus and Kroxigor ahead of him as his skills in the tight confines would be that of a supporter while the rest tied into combat. It had taken Huaroc all of his skill just to best a single ghoul in hand to hand...leading him to understand his best weapon was the blow gun or the thrown javlin.
Turning right you reach a stone door, it has skulls and other markings carved into it. The door appears old and there is a language of a foreign tongue bordering the door. There are no other discerning features.
Huaroc was dissapointed there was no crack at the bottom of the door like there was at the previous. Still he checked over his shoulder that the rest of the party was ready and after a nod from Ilok, Huaroc jerked open the door, taking partial shelter behind it but had his Javlin at the ready defensively.
As the door cracked open a cloud of dust bellowed out into the hallway. Slowly the dust settled revealing a room about 20ft by 20ft. It had high ceilings and intricately designed walls. On the right wall where two statues of men carved into it, which framed a massive golden rimed chest. On the wall opposite to where you entered was a single stone dooe much the same as the one you all came through.
