AoS Looking for some help to create a 1k ~ 1250 list

Hello fellow lizard fans! A long friend of mine started playing Age of Sigmar some time ago and after a test game i'm looking to join him on this hobby. I really liked the Seraphon models and the Lore behind them, so I was hoping to start my first army with them. My first thought was to get a starting collection and do some of the lovely conversions that i found around here (mostly the easy to do: a starpriest with the Troglodon skink and a Scar-veteran on the Cold-One). With that i should have around 630 points. The play groups around here play mostly games with 1k or 1250 list, so I looking to get at least a 1k range to start with (if the 1k list can easily be "upgraded" to a 1250 list even better!). I kind lost on what to buy to get there.

• A second start collection (to get 15 knight and 20 warrior models and a troglodon/canosaur) would be a good ideia?
• We have some dificulties to get some models around here (the shipping can get really expensive), so i doubt i will be able to get a Slann or Lord Kroak any time soon. Other than the start collection i could get some combination of a Skink, a Saurus Guards, a Batiladon or a Terradon/Ripperdactyle box. Would any of those be good enought? (Because of the shipping issue, it would be better to get a low number of box if possible)

The metagame around here is pretty casual, so I'm not looking for something ultra competitive, just something i that have some synergy between the unities if possible. Thanks for the help!

If you can still find them I recommend the Seraphon Battleforce Starclaw Starhost. They run $180.00 retail and are an awesome value. I would also pick up an additional box of Skinks. If the Battleforce is unavailable then a Star Collecting box and some few small kits would be a great place to start. I recommend the SCBox, 2 boxes of Ripperdactys/Terradons, 2 boxes of Skinks, A Skink Starpriest, and 3-4 Razordons (these can be converted using Saurus Knights), and/or a Bastiladon.

Here are a two list options @ 1250:

First list using the Battleforce and a second box of Skinks.

If Razordons are unavailable you can drop 20 Skinks and the Razordons to add a Bastiladon.

Thanks for the lists WizardLizard!

Sadly the Seraphon Battleforce is not a possibility for me, the fell ones I found are really expensive around here. I checked the lists on your signature and the Firelance build seens like something easy to do with two Start Collection (except for the Razordon, with 15 knights and the Scar-veteran on Cold-one as a conversion I wouldn't have enought Knights to convert them if i'm not wrong). The second list you posted seens like something i could do with some time. I have a couple of questions:

• On the second list, would it be possible to make a 1000 list with those unities? (Just take out the Bastiladon eand it's done maybe?)
• There is any particular reason to use two Skinks unities of 10 models each rather than one unity with 20 models? I seen lots of lists using a lot of Skinks, but the look a little weak in small number. There is something special about them I'm missing?
• The majority of the lists I found on some searchs don't use Knight or Warriors (some even recomend against then), are they that bad?

1) Yeah, at 1k I would drop the Bastiladon.

2) Skinks are fantastic in units of 10. They likely will only inflict limited amounts of damage, but they are the best unit for capturing and holding objectives. Wary Fighter makes them incredibly annoying to remove from key locations.

3) Saurus Knights and Warriors are pretty weak when it come to killing and staying alive. If your friends tend to just play murder games then Seraphon might not be the army for you unless you want to spam Ripperdactyls and Razordons.

Hmmm thanks for the info!
I'm wondering now if it is worthy to get the Start Collection if the Warriors and the Knights aren't that useful... Or maybe try another army to start and come back to Seraphon when they decide to update them with a new battletome.
