I've been a while on this forum and finally I found the time to share my army and its painting process to those who are interested.

First, a too bright shot of nearly my whole army. In the cupboard:

I apologize for the poor quality of the pictures, I was just too lazy to get the whole army out of the cupboard and set up decent lights...

Anyway, here is what I'm working on at the moment, the Temple Guard:

Good looking army, I like the mix of old new and converted minis. :smug:
 
Thank you. The only thing bothering me is that I started painting them 15 years ago and back then I had no idea that my army would look better if they all had the same color scheme. So when I'm done with everything I'll start repainting the blue saurus and a couple of skinks.

I'm thinking of doing my chakax green aswell, how did you go about it? And do you have any closer pics of him? I'd like to see how the green suits him compared to purple and blue :3

I primed his skin with goblin green and drybrushed that with rotting flesh (I think thats the name, at least the brightest green I had at hand, almost bleached-bone-like). After that the scales were washed with a very old GW-color called green glaze. I think the Thraka Green Wash should work as well though. Easy as that!

I like green sauri better than the blue ones, so I went with a lighter green color for my Temple Guard and therefore for Chakax as well. I think it depends on how you colored the rest of your army.
 
Yeah, Im not a huge fan of the blue scheme either, I've gone with red sauri and really liking that. Not gotten around to pictures yet XD
 
Instead of working on the TG I tried to convert the old bow-holding skinks to blowpipe-using skirmishers. I'm quite happy with the result. What do you think?

Yep I had exactly the same conversion on mine, it works out pretty good after a bit of carving.

Did you remove the quiver or what did you do with it? I saw somewhere here that someone removed the quiver and sculpted gs spikes and scales on the back. But that was for a mould, I think, not done on every model of a unit.

Though I'll use them as skirmishers I found it looked better with a javelin in the quiver than with arrows.
