8th Ed. Lords/Heroes/Magic in small game

Hey, all.

I am just getting into Fantasy and Lizardmen. I have a 1200 vp battle with a buddy (Skaven), and I am wondering how much magic is necessary at that level. Do I go with a bare-bones Slann or a couple of Skink priests? What is the best general option? Scar-Vet? Is a BSB necessary? I have plenty of saurus, temple guard, skinks, kroxigors and 2 stegadons for troops and such.

All advice is appreciated.

A skink priest or two and a scar-vet would probaly be fine.

My experience with heavens magic has been devastating, my skink priests went from bare bones to lvl2 with the plaque of whatever so they get three spells. If you can't afford the lvl 2 upgrade, you can still get them the plaque of whatever for a cheap extra spell. Chain lightning and Comet are made of win.

Plaque of Topek is what you're thinking of brokbrok - it only gives you another spell though, the level 2 upgrade is another 35 points. Plaque is an awesome upgrade though IMO for only 15points. Of course if I have those other 35 points spare I'll upgrade him to level 2 as well.
