Wow, the Tomk King winning out was a bit of a suprise result, wasn't sure on the Orc VS Wight King fight, but I thought Strew was in with a chance there... Now I've gotta see how Mr. T goes!!!
Well then. I really didn't expect my Branchwraith to actually get anywhere, so. But I can't complain. I love Dryads.
I bet the battle between Strewart and I was epic! Still, didn't expect to beat out a Wight...just goes to show the dice rolls can be the life or death of even the mightiest.
Five of whatever the currency of the internet is that he makes it past the Orc but loses in the next round. Ten of the same that the Bret Paladin goes all the way. (because he's mine)
Oh wow, thats a great way to add a little spice to the next Arena of Death. Run a little betting ring on the side! See who ends up with the most winnings at the end. Not with real money obviously, but everyone who enters could be allocated a certain amount of 'gold', to spread among the rounds/fighters however they want.
I agree completely. The second of results should be up later tonight hopefully, but I would definitely be interested in starting that for the second round.
Yes, yes you did. Here, have an e-cookie! Xlontiqu, are you planning to do another arena after this one is finished? If so, I would be happy to handle the betting ring side of it while you run the main part. Or we can swap if you have had enough dice rolling for now. I wasn't going to start it this game, but I guess we could do a little bit of a trial from round 2 if you like.
Would one of you guys be so kind to PM me if you would start a new one. I seem to miss the global announcements .. Thanks! The Hunted
Sure Hunted, community spirit and all that jazz. But it does prove your too cool for us as your not getting in enough and getting online Lloyd
Yeah well, I'm too cool for a lot of people I think you can fish out the sarcasm in that yourself...strewart: can you? And well, I've never been a huge fan of AoD. But I guess I'll give it a shot, and go from there. I mean, what do I have to lose, bar my pride and dignity ? On a slightly more serious note: Thanks. The Hunted
... You had that to lose? Maybe we can stake it in the bets next game. My pride and dignity vs your 20 Lustria gold that my character gets further.
The Hunted. Your pride isnt worth that much! You're being ripped off Strewert!! shouldnt be more than a small hand full of cold one dung hehe Lloyd
Round 1 Part 2 After some furious fighting, Round 1 comes to a close, reducing the field to just eight competitors! Who will take the title of champion this time around? novatomato vs. Yzan Lord Bittlesworth stared across at his opponent, a Daemon follow of Slaanesh. The air hummed with magical energies around her... no its body. The daemon started moving and Lord Bittlesworth realized it was going on the offensive, but was a tad too late, its magical sword rending his head from his body. Lust triumphantly stood over the body, daring others to come and fight. (The Herald managed to hit with all its attacks and then wound with three. The Lord then failed all three of his ward saves and died.) Victor: Yzan. Chahlie vs. Sir Zantos Huitzilopochtil coldly stared out at the brutish ogre across from him, waiting for his opponent to make the first move for atop his Cold One. The Ogre charged, but the longsword was parried by the Oldblood easily. Huitzilopochtil swung back, gashing Slog across the chest, his blade biting deep. Enraged the ogre reentered the fray and the two began a quick duel with both receiving wounds. But as the ogre's speed slowed, Huitzilopochtil saw an opening and took it, driving his blade straight through the Slog's heart, finishing him off. (With the Oldblood doing double wounds and the Tyrant lacking significant punch, the Oldblood took this fight.) Victor: Sir Zantos. Juhaaha vs. Dreadgrass The battle of the beastmen had coming, Mr. T and Billy the Bull staring each other down. Billy struck first, but his attacks were easily deflected by his opponent. Mr. T struck back, hatred evident in his eyes, and inflicted to gashing wounds into the Gorebull. Billy, staggering from loss of blood could not muster enough strength to wound his opponent, and was quickly killed by Mr. T. (With hatred rerolls and a great weapon, the Beastlord had no problem getting past the Gorebull`s defenses.) Victor: Dreadgrass. ryan88 vs. rammramm Alariel spotted his enemy and quickly moved to strike the Chaos scum, but his blade was not strong enough to pierce the tough armour of the Chaos Lord. Guluk struck back, but the netlings surrounding Alariel kept most of his blows warded away. The two entered a furious duel, a combat so quick few could follow all the movements. Guluk drew first blood, but Alariel quickly returned the favour. Another wound was struck and returned soon after, but the competitors were growing tired. As the fight drew longer, Guluk made the fatal mistake, stumbling a little over his tired feet. Alariel quickly used this advantage and swept the Chaos Lord's legs and then driving his blade through a slit in the helm. (This fight lasted fifteen rounds and was the longest fight I have had to do. The Highborn's spites and ward save and the Chaos Lord's armour both kept them alive for a very long time. Finally, the Highborn took off the last wound and won the fight.) Victor: ryan88. So, on to Round 2, but now the stakes are raised! For those of you who are not following the thread, we are adding a betting component of the Arena of Death and running a trial of it in Round 2. Strewart, I will leave you to figure out the exact details, so stay tuned. And feel free to post up your predictions for the next round! Round 2 Brackets Eternity_Warden vs. Sao JohnMavrick vs. Xlcontiqu Yzan vs. Sir Zantos Dreadgrass vs. ryan88
Woohoo! Was so afraid I'd die first round after checking this a couple of times a day ever since it started! Next up is the elf though.... hmm..... To be honest the elf is the character I've been the most afraid of since the beginning... hopefully can chop him down before he lands a killing blow!
