I'm pretty happy with that result I figured it'd take a long time for a winner to emerge since that chaos lord was tough. Glad it was me though good build for rammramm though so all sportsmanlike congrats go out.

I can finally use that killing blow dance thank god so i think i might, but on the off round i might have to go with the extra attack. i figure the beastie can't stop em all.

I'm glad (very glad) the ogre and bull went down, they were concerns since their heads are to big to chop off with killing blow and i didn't feel too keen about getting stomped on either...

In any case good luck to everyone left and congratulations and to all who didn't hope to see ya next area. (that has a bit of a zing to it)

Congrats ryan88. I guess going all defense isnt always the best. Will have to think of something good untill next time and put some more thought into it then. Good luck to everyone who is still in the race.

    forgot to post this
Just noticed a weird trend First 3 on the left died, the one on the right, then 3 on the left, then last on the right -_-

So left, left, left, right to continue in this round then? Sounds plausible.

I don't like this trend.... lol

C'mon Mr.T! Show them all a dirty smelly Elfy-thing with its little friends and fancy moon-walk can't beat an "I'm so tough it hurts" Lord of the Beasts!

Okay, so It's a bit of a long shot, but if I can stave off the killing blows for a few rounds (lucky it'll only be 1 round in 2, not constant) I'm in with a shot... right?

Alright lets do a little betting experiment for the rest of this game and see how it works.. For anyone still alive or for those dead, but you need to have entered a character.

Every player has 20 gold to begin with, you can place as much or as little of it as you want on any upcoming result. For the next result (in this case, round 2) the odds are 1:2, so you stand to double your money. If you want to bet on round 3 results (before round 2 is published) you get 1:3 odds to represent the harder chance of winning, since whoever you bet on would need to make it past round 2 first. Similarly, Round 4 (pick the overall champion now) will get 1:4 odds, a chance to quadruple your money. After round 2 is complete, odds will be updated.

Once a bet is posted you cannot withdraw it, any edited posts with bets submitted will get no winnings, so just make another post rather than editing, if you have to double post is ok.

I'll compile all bets and winnings and post them after each round, then put up a leaderboard of who won the most cash. In future there may also be other types of betting available, will see if it is viable to predict which 'turn' of each fight the battle will be over and things like that. Lets see how this goes as a basic system first. Also, feel free to keep in character when you are putting your bets in with the bookie for a bit more fun. ;)

Xlontiqu is aiming to have round 2 results posted by the end of the week, so get your bets in before then. Enjoy! And feel free to give feedback or suggest ideas and improvements for it.

And for myself, I am going to split my money between the 4 fights and follow the left left left right trend pointed out by Craken. :)

    Bets:
ryan88: 20 gold on ryan88 (Wood Elf) to beat Dreadgrass (Beastlord) at 2 to 1 odds
Eternity_Warden: 20 gold on Eternity_Warden (Tomb King) to beat Sao (Vampire) at 2 to 1 odds
strewart: 5 gold on Eternity_Warden (Tomb King) to beat Sao (Vampire) at 2 to 1 odds
5 gold on JohnMavrick (Orc Warboss) to beat Xlontiqu (grandmaster) at 2 to 1 odds
5 gold on Yzan (Herald of Slannesh) to beat Sir Zantos (Saurus Oldblood) at 2 to 1 odds
5 gold on ryan88 (Wood Elf) to beat Dreadgrass (Beastlord) at 2 to 1 odds

I actually believe the trend may well continue, the last fight will be very interesting. And secretly I of course hope the Oldblood wins that fight despite betting against him.

Here are my bets and predictions, before the dice are rolled!

    Eternity_Warden vs. Sao

I think the Tomb King has this one, with four wounds and a high Toughness being favorable for him. I think the Vampire lacks enough punch to get the wounds in in enough time.

    5 gold on Eternity_Warden

    JohnMavrick vs. Xlcontiqu

Contrary to strewart's beliefs, I think that my high armour and ward save will be enough to keep me from dying, and that my Helm of Discord and Hammer of Judgement can carry me to another victory. I think it may be tough for the orc to get past my defenses, and one failed LD check could mean he is in for a world of pain.

    5 gold on Xlcontiqu

    Yzan vs. Sir Zantos

I think Sir Zantos has this, as one wound will be all he needs to get through to kill the Herald. Even with all his ASF attacks, I do not think the Herald will inflict enough wounds quickly enough to fell the Oldblood.

    5 gold on Sir Zantos

    Dreadgrass vs. ryan88

Sorry Dreadgrass, but I think ryan88 has got this one. With Annoyance of Netlings, it might be tough to get anything in on him. Again his ward is going to come into play, and I think it will be tough to significantly wound him.

    5 gold on ryan88

Some quite interesting matchups, but I cannot fully support any one competitor yet. All of them look to be fairly deadly, and it is quite possible I am wrong with all my predictions.

Okay, time to lay down the spread:

Eternity Warden (Tomb King) VS Sao (Vampire)
Gotta back the Tomb king here, A lot of wounds and toughness plus killing blow and high strength to get through the armour... it's take a few lucky wardsaves for the vamp to make it through... then again, stranger things have happened...

    PREDICTION: ETERNITY WARDEN

John Mavrick (Orcsy) VS Xlcontiqu (Humie)
I'm going to back Xlcontiqu here, I really like that Lord's setup.

    PREDICTION: XLCONTIQU

Yzan (Herald of Slaanesh) VS Sir Zantos (Old Blood)
I think the Old Blood has the advantage here, but the Herald has an incredibly lucky track record... I'll stick with the numbers over my gut feeling

    PREDICTION: SIR ZANTOS

Dreadgrass (Awesome Lord of the Beasts) VS ryan88 (namby dancing elf with entourage)
After running the numbers a few times, I've deduced that I should wallop the Wardancer Lord (albeit in 8-9 rounds) as long as he doesn't manage a lucky killing blow (which, between re-rolling wounds and a 4+ ward is an outside possibility) so, whilst I'm still quite concerned/ edgy, I'm a bit more comfortable with some maths to back me up.
    PREDICTION: DREADGRASS

BET: 20 gold on... DREADGRASS!!!!!(for this round)

So, you heard it here first folks! if I manage to win through this round I'm sitting pretty well for both the betting pool (since you all think I'm going down, shame on you!) and the tournament.

Dreadgrass: 20 gold on Dreadgrass (Beastlord) to beat ryan88 (Wood Elf) at 2 to 1 odds

Yeah I might have a couple wrong with the pattern. The only one I am pretty sure of is the TK beating the Vampire, which is a bit of a twist from the norm.

Hmm, the last time someone said that I would lose I ended up with a solid win. So I'm gonna stick with me for a bet.

!0 Gold on my match for my own win.
5 gold on Sir Zantos for the win
5 gold on ryan88 for the win

Thats different to the way I've done and seen betting before. Usually on a result you will get a dollar value for the odds, and that is how much money oyu will get for every dollar you put on if you are right. Eg. Australia to win: $2.50. I put on $1, I get $2.50. I put on $100, I get $250.

So I am essentially giving you $2 odds for each fight in this round. You will get $40 back in total, not your original 20 as well. That would be $3 odds.

Interesting to firstly see everyone using all their money and not saving any (confident betting!) and everyone betting on this round, not trying for the higher odds in later rounds (safe betting). Maybe in future we should give better odds for hero level fighting lord level.
