With 3+ armor versus ranged attacks, the enemy probably will only shoot their cannons, stone throwers, and other armor ignoring effects at them, which don't roll to hit... Just gotta keep your EotG nearby for a 5+ ward.
For Scar-Vet's, one of my personal favorite combinations for items is the Piranha Blade and the Bane Head. Pick an enemy character (preferably the general) and each wound turns into 3! This trick is particularly fun against Vampire Counts.
The Pirahna blade is good in general for a 1000 Points, since most Heroes will have 2 wounds, means you only need one failed save to kill a enemy character. For 1000 Points Like Saurus Scar vet one Cold one with Sword of Might or Pirahna blade.
Well, this wouldn't really work in a 1k game, but I've been toying around with throwing an oldblood on a carnosaur, giving him the Blade of Realities, Shield of the Mirrored Pool, and Carnosaur pendant. That gives him, realistically, 8 attacks, and immunity to magic, for the most part. (The carno pendant is awesome when on a carnosaur 8D)
I think you went over the pts. allowance for your Old Blood there, also, the carnosaur pendant is a little redundant since he will be on the carnosaur, and if the carno dies before him, you probably don't want him frenzied
Yeah the carnosaur frenzy extends to the rider... Also, this is very close to a common and quite powerful build, switch the shield for the maiming shield and now you effectively have 9 attacks.
Yeah you are right, I read it as the scimitar of the sun, which would be fine and give 8/9 attacks... @ Krox-Power, how do you pull 8 attacks with the blade of realities? I think you mean 6?
well to get back on topic i usually only play 2k games but with that in mind i like to give my slann 2 diciplines focus of mystery and focused rumination, cupped hands, bane head, and shield of the mirrored pool for my saurus i usually build them to reinforce my cav so with that in mind i tend to give them cold one, light armour, enchanted shield, blood statuette of spite (i know i know but is fun to watch people flip out),and venom i usually give my priest scrolls or scroll and power stone
Ok dokey here is a list of all the current Lord and Heroes I'm running on a 2250pt list that I plan to use in a local tornament: Lord Saurus Oldblood with Light Armour, Enchanted Shield, The Blade of Realities and mounted on a Carnosaur 455pts Heroes Battle Standard Bearer Saurus Scar-Veteran with Light Armour, Shield, Burning Blade of Chotec and mounted on a Cold One 158pts L2 Skink Priest mounted on an Ancient Stegadon with War Drum of Xahutec, Plaque of Tepok and mounted on an Engine of the Gods 435pts L2 Skink Priest with Diadem of power and Dispel Scroll 150pts 1198pts Roughly over half of my points is used just on Charactors alone, butI do get two big Dinosaurs I think the cost is justified. Still I think it's a little over the top here. I wonder how many points you guys usually spend on heroes and lords?
if i run two ancient steggies my point cost for heros runs about a third of my army, sometimes more. but two steggies for that point value are justified
Unfortunately not, as the Venom affects the weapon a character is holding, not attacks from the character themselves. Bears Anger doesn't allow you to use weapons so I'm sorry to say it looks like a no-go.
So how would that work with a skink chief with an additional hand weapon and venom? How many attacks could he re roll hits on?
Joungel Poisons rule gives poison only on ranged attacks ... so skink chief with extra hand weapon in close combat dont get any rerolls...
They're talking about venom of the firefly frog not jungle poison... Remember, with an addition hand weapon you are still using the first hand weapon, which is also coated in venom, so all your attacks are effected by it.
I know but he asks for rerolls... If you have poisonous attack like javalins or blowpipes and VoFFF you can reroll to hits... but in close combat, skink chief's attacks are not poisonous, so you can not reroll any close combat attack...
