8th Ed. Magic Missiles

So the 8th ed book says that a caster cannot cast a magic missile if he or his unit are engaged in close combat ... does the mean the slaan can no longer poke his head up and cast a fire ball and some other unit? Please show me i am wrong i beg you.

Slann special rule allows this so it overrides the basic rulebook. This is assuming you are referring to a Slann in Temple Guard of course.

Also don't forget about the skinks priest ability to Channel a magic missle form the Slann.
