For example, the current UE challenge is called To the Stars and does not have to necessarily be Old World or AoS (heh if anything, Skaven in Spaaaaaaaaaaaace could be done as 40k fluff, especially if we're talking about pre-retcon Hrud.)

Well there have been plenty of dibs for Star Trek parodies, the Clanrat's Guide to the Galaxy, I think I personally had Red Dwarf in mind (until I suddenly found myself writing a short one off horror piece instead...I used to write lighthearted comedy! Where did it all go so wrong?! XD )

I guess one AoS angle could be something like "Life aboard the Starmaster's Ship (or however the AoS Slann travel about)" where the writers form up their own image of these 'ships' (or methods), how they run, look, e.t.c.

Oh there's plenty of parody opportunity for sure. Aliens, the Fifth Element, Heavy Metal, Battlestar Galactica, Lost in space, Buck Rodgers/Duck Dodgers, Flash Gordon, Star Wars. If only I had the time.
