I'd rather have our tomb kings in AoS. At least then they would still be supported, the secondary market wouldn't be ridiculous, and I would stop having yo relyton contacts to get models for fair prices

To each their own I suppose. I am happy with the current state of affairs, but I can see how others might not be.

I think Lovecraft's inventions were the Deep Ones, not Deepkin. And while Lovecraft is pretty much all in the public domain anyway, GW is of course nothing if not rigorous about their branding and the trademarkable and copyrightable nature thereof.

Indeed, so coming up with an interesting elf-ish name for the race and adding it on to something that maybe possibly could-be-just copyrighted makes sense
