8th Ed. Maximizing/base size

A pretty general rule question here... 4 wide skinks fighting 6 wide skinks. How many get to fight? Does the ones "not in base contact" on the edges fight or do they count as in base contact? Or do you align so that 5 of the skinks definatly is in base contact?

In general, does the cornermodels get to fight as per base contact rule?

We've always aligned the units so the bases actually are in contact but im beginning to think that has been wrong .

the answer is 6 of them fight can't remmember where it stands in the BRB and don't have it on my but i do know that you can see it somewhere in a picture in the BRB ;p

Yeah corner to corner counts as in contact, so 6 could fight.
