8th Ed. Monster Mounts and Armour Saves

Page 105 or WHRB:
A character on a on a Ridden Monster counts his armour save as being 1 better than normal.

Stegadon:
All hits upon the model are resolved using the Monster' Toughness, Wounds, and Save.

Ancient Steg:
Confers it's 3+ save to it's riders, if a character is mounted it would become a 2+ because of the Ridden Monster Rule.


Questions:

Is 2+ armour save just character or does it confer to crew as well?

If character is wearing the Stegadon Helm or has a shield he is give additional +1 to armour save, AS is now 1+?
 
Stegadon is a monster that follows the same rules that Mountrous Cavalry
You use the higher stat no matter if it came from the mount or the rider.

On a deffensive view:
What do you use for Skink crew: I (which is better than the monster)
What you use of the Stegadon is: M, WS, S, T, W, L , AS.

When a Hero use the Stegadon as a Mount, he replace one crew skink, and the Stegadon now is a ridden monster.
in terms of shooting: 1-4 to the Stegadon profile , 5-6 to the skink.

In combat you can choose the target of your attacks. Monster or Rider.

Skink only get +1 AS as been riding a monster. Also is stubbron while he is ridding the Steg.
Stegadon gets no benefit, only his points are rated on hero slot instead special/rare.
 
thanks for your reply but I was asking if the Skink crew also gain the +1 to AS because it is now ridden by a hero or if their AS remains the same?

The skink crew can't be attacked/hit/wounded/removed in the new book, so they have no need of an Armor Save (they don't even have a value for Wounds).
