My Idea for painting a Manticore

Ok so I know it's a human face on the body of a red lion with a scorpion tail now it's for a chaos lord who will be black/purple with brass edging.

I'm struggling to come up with a decent scheme for the Manticore so I want your input before I commit to the final colours.

My initial thoughts were purple body with a star system painted onto the flesh maybe a star constellation, I have seen this done in WD and it looked very nice, I could then duplicate the stars onto the lords cloak, I really like this idea but is purple right?

I think it depends on the shades of red and purple you are talking about. If you go deep red (like on your Khorne Lord) then a light purple would bring out the detail. I don't think that there are many other choices of colors that I'd go for if I wanted to keep the dark feel to it. Maybe Orange if I wanted it to seem like a fire within, but in any case, I'd start dark and build up to a bright color in the same family. Make it appear as though it was glowing. But that's just my preference. I like my tattoos to seem like they are more than just ink jobs. Like a god put them there.

Good point, I might go black and highlight purple
