I can't give hints on what to do with the greenstuff part, but for the spikes I'd definitely recommend to use a knife on them in order to make them less round. Just carve away a bit of the wood. It will make them look less round and thus less artificial.

Tell me what you guys think! The armor on the back I custom made using bits from the dark elf riders of the drakespawn. I took the chai mail armor on their legs and cut off the legs then glued it on like armor plates. Then I took a darkelf shield and glue it sideways and took a decoration of one of their heads and put it in the middle. The middle I used greenstuff to fill. I painted all his metal armor a silvery blue like Starmetal (because it’s epic). Please tell me what you all think!

    Definitely a unique conversion!
I'd recommend another thin layer on the red parts to make it cover a bit better, and maybe a light silver drybrush on the armor to give it a bit more contrast.

Here is my (almost) finished Bastiladon. All that’s left for me to do is his feet and some touch ups. Any advice is appreciated.

Your defo getting better but looking at the model, the Skinks need to be a contrasting colour to the Blue shell, if you would have painted them red and given them blue crests that would add contrast and tie them to the shell.

The more you paint the easier it becomes to spot things like contrast, keep going as you are. ;)

I finally started to redo the color of his belly. This is my first base coat so I have a lot of touch ups to do on it and around it lol. Also I thought about maybe taking some spare bases I had and attaching them on his back as seen below. Then maybe I could use some toothpicks or something to be like beams and attach a skinks or a saurus or something to it. Do you guys think that would look nice? Also I have a spare ark of sotek from my bastiladon is there anyway I could incorporate that? 73C14479-6C79-45DA-BA86-52E1B6CD475A.jpeg 9C03CBA9-6B35-42E4-A2D6-F6A200EF88F5.jpeg 8CC6B1F6-8B86-40EA-A190-497E6D378C11.jpeg

I built the howdah on his back and put a saurus warrior on it. At the two open spots on the howdah’s rail I plan to get a miniature rope ladder to hang off. Tell me what you guys think and any tips you have!

Looks pretty epic and the detail is very well done. The vibrant red in particular is very good and is pretty bold.
However for things to focus on, which isn’t to much as the core stuff looks good, is really to push contrast as this guy has a LOT of red and as cool as rusted gold is, it does not really stand out enough. Other than that it’s pretty awesome and the Howdah will pretty cool to see finished.

The grey is places that haven’t been done (my primer color). I chose an interesting color scheme and I personally think the gold looks pretty nice and different. What do you guys think? Advice and tips wanted dead or alive (but hopefully alive because I don’t want someone to die to give me paint tips lol)

    That's an interesting idea!
I am biased though as I like the gold+red combination a lot. :D

You might want to paint the small triangle of skin between the bones red, too, instead of fully gold. Not sure..

Is it a plane, is it a bird, no it is a Ripperdactyl!
    Interesting to say the least.

Definitely standing out in therms of color.
I like the golden breast. I'd like to think that the Rippers are wearing armor as well.

I'm personally not a fan of the golden edges on the wings(but that is flavor i guess) ;)

Good job, keep up the work.

Hey do you think my dread would look better if I repainted the armor gold?

good to see them being loved and in use - especially love the old Slann standards giving a throwback to the old age stuff. The champion you have with the standard is tehehuni champion (can never spell his name) converted to hold that. Next suggestion is add some colour on the circle elements of the gold amour stuff, makes them jewels and makes the model feel that bit more richer I think eople add silver or white highlights to make them look shinny too. You'd have to ask one of the painters on the forum. but big thumbs up from me :D
