Blog My re-entry into the Lizard domain

Did both top heads come out with weird teeth? If you don't have any other luck trying to get a replacement I'm pretty sure I have a spare finecast top head with teeth. As for the foot, hair dryer and a bit of careful poking back into the right angle.

Hobby stores actually have some cheap material and sometimes the natural world can give you some resources too. What you have now definitely works, but it seems like you have the skills to do a little more. It's 100% a personal preference but for center pieces like your awesome EOTG I think the mono-static grass is detracting from your hard work!

You can get a lot down with some cork and sand. I even use some tree bark! Keep up the good work!!

Thank you! I agree, I made it fairly low detail since I was afraid it would have too much going on, probably a little too far in the simple direction and will be something I will try to keep in mind for future large models!

I have had a terrible time trying to cast teeth before, but then again I cast minis with mold material I buy cheap from the internet, with no special machinery to pump the resin into the molds. The fact that a big company is having problems like that is pretty terrible. I would definitely try to get a new one.

I did contact them and got a new model free of charge, tragically it only had 50% more teeth though, so it still had those holes in its teeth, just less than the previous one, either way just means I have 3 Razordons now :D

Sadly both heads did indeed, the replacement I got was slightly better but it still had the issues so I'm thinking it's their mould that is damaged or worn out, either way got 3 Razordons now! And thank you for the offer, it is a fairly minor detail though that luckily isn't all that visible from viewing distance, so no need for another head, although a very kind offer to make :)

Probably adding a few tufts, static grass and some rocks to some of it, like the razordon and astrolith, skinks might do a few too but seeing as I've still got another 60 to paint and they frankly get wiped off the table faster than you can say hola skinks, my work to time to reward ratio feels pretty poor in that regard o_O
 
I really love the way those red creasted skinks came out :D

Thank you! Pretty happy with how these alpha skinks turned out too, the red is a good way for me to spot them as well during games as it's fairly contrasting to the blue blob of models

Surpassed my goal of just winning 1 match

2 wins and 3 losses, first ever tourney for me and im pretty happy with the result, the 2 matches today i was knackered and made so many mistakes i basically gave the battles away.

Been in a bit of a lull lately with getting painting done, so I decided to try my hand at some basic carpentry instead.

Fixed up a passable gaming table i can fold out when I have friends over!

The foldable frame was taken from a cheap plastic table that had a metal foldable frame, smacked on some MDF plates and some wood pieces to attach it to and that was it! It's a little off at places a few crooked or bend areas, but it works and can be folded and tucked away neatly when not used!
