Yep it is strange scenery, and I do sit and wonder whether it will fit well. Then if I paint it in the right colours it won't be that bad... I think. So many spiky bits

    Just a mini update
Carrying on steadily with AoP, the Skink Starpriest's staff broke, need to pin it. Apparently touching it with a brush is a no for the miniatures. While the painting is going on I had the side-thought of what I was going to do with Nighthaunt models when they come, it would either be easier painting them in normal bone and cloth or ghostly colours.
I will have to sit and think on this, trying to go unique with an idea, yet it's hard as it's more limiting compared to Seraphon. In my mind, yet my mind just came up with an idea but I don't think it would work. I do have spare a spare Nighthaunt cavalry horse around so I could test the idea.

The two test models are done, sitting out in the conservatory and messing with the phone's camera brightness will result in nice pictures.

    Now to finish the others

Right now, got the wedding cake topper out of the way, now back to Armies on Parade work, then I've been pelted with other upcoming deadlines; always when I do Armies on Parade...
Anyway painting up some Saurus Knight shields, also attempted at some free-hand symbol work.... As it goes with my drawing, all of it never fits on and painting over with white again will be a pain. Oh well.
    IMG_20170921_194629806.jpg

I need to get some of the big bags of flock for the board, which is still primed. Still go other pieces of scenery to spray. Really need to get back down to the store at one point, see how everyone else is getting on.

The freehand looks good. Not quite sure about the white shields but if they fit your Saurus... why not. :)

What types of flock are you using?
I found that the model train terrain stuff is much more awesome than everything else I saw.
(more about flock on my blog soon since I used a ton of it on my new terrain pieces)

Well wasn't sure on the colour in the first place, having red and orange Cold Ones and Blue Saurus, hard to think of a colour that would fit in nicely. I have many different spawnings of Lizards, so many colour schemes to keep track of.

Using the static grass for the miniatures, just looking for a big cheaper bag for to cover most of the board. Having multiples of the smaller static grass tubs may end up more expensive. I have plants for the board and the miniatures.

Oh I am sure they can look very nice, I am just bad at imagining how it will look. :)

Been back to the Workshop after not being there for about a month, been unwell and stuff. Wanted to buy a small model..... ended up with a big box of small models :D
He wanted me to join in for the apocalypse games in the new year, he needed more Death Guard players around. Also nurgle being good for conversion work.
Also got a free folder for putting the cards in from the store.

    IMG_20170928_153130307.jpg

Now to sit and think for ideas while I carry on with my AoP entry

Found myself doing a some small conversion/kitbashing when I got back home today, bad quality pictures, night-time here
    IMG_20171002_201536238.jpg

Malignant Plaguecaster, with some Tyranid parts, still a WIP at the moment. Chipping away at making a cloven hoof on him, then onto greenstuff.
I think the manager got me to get the boxset was because he needs more Death Guard players for an upcoming event, he also said I can mash some Tyranid parts on them. I'm only used to making lizards so this tricky at the moment.

Also digged out the miniature I am making for the Chaq'Kai
    IMG_20171002_201628862.jpg

The god they worship, need to finish this too and get a fancy base for him. Just filling in all those gaps on the ribcage/rest of bones will be a pain, just so the skulls underneath doesn't show.
Need to paint though, somehow Armies on Parade fell to the bottom of the list.

Went to the store and picked up a mystery bag for the painting competition, a random miniature and three paints, the three paints have to be used as part of the main colour scheme. And.....

    IMG_20171004_135107405.jpg

Why do I always end up with a detailed model? The manager said he would like to see the entries also on the AoP boards.... not sure how this guy will fit in with the lizards.

Don't know if this is helping in some way, but with the red clothing it reminds me of Father Christmas...o_O:hilarious:
    ...I guess it's not...

Maybe you can use him as an enemy in some way

Just prime him grey then drybrush it to look like stone and stick it on a column to look like a statue, you can always paint over it later ;)

Hmmmm, depends when the deadline is set for the miniature, manager hasn't decided yet. AoP is in November. Trying to aim to get Cold Ones done by next week, as the deadline is getting closer and closer so fast.

Well there goes the aim to get the Cold Ones done, they need highlighting and the details painted then they can be based, then it will be onto the Saurus, who are only base coated in blue. The Skink I can't get his staff to how I want it. Next is getting the rest of the Skink Archers finished and the converted Troglodon, also the scenery and board.
Even though I gave myself enough time but I still can't seem to get a lot done, well been busy with a cake topper and other stuff that comes up. :argh:

Also finally brought a Stonehorn head part after waiting and searching for weeks, that's for a project after AoP. I have so many unfinished projects...

Having lots of unfinished projects tends to sap my motivation. I try to keep the number low now.

Set yourself an order and do them one by one, I have loads of stuff 1/2 done as well and discipline is needed, which I don't have.

I have about a trillion unfinished projects! :p

You don't have discipline?!!? Our painting ambassador and champion!

By that logic I absolutely love AoS (I really don't) and I've decided not to go watch The Last Jedi in December!

I wish I did have discipline, I'm getting better hardly buying any models these days but Death guard do keep asking.
