Time to reveal the new Lizardmen army, my second Lizard army, have my Swamp/ Jungle Lizards and now these fellas.

This was a quickly practiced model, wanted to test out and experiment with the colours. Future models will be neater and other stuff.
Will get around to writing the fluff for these guys. For now, have a picture.

I like it, It reminds me of this:

Maybe it is just the picture but maybe the the black parts could use a bit highlighting, so the details get more defined.

What about the weapon?

yea, should look good when you paint all the metal trinkets, and the weapon.

Planning on what colours to paint the weapon and trinkets, for the weapon I painted it a stone colour. Debating on the metallic side of colours at the moment.

Any bright colour will contrast well, I would go gold but Liberators gold washed with reikland then highlight with runefang steel then a very thin green glaze, that will tint the silver back a tad and deepen the gold.

Thanks, don't have some of the colours but I will find a way around it. Out of the list I have got Runefang and the Green glaze.
Based on their fluff they hide deep in the jungles, actually underground.

No update, been busy with moving stuff to my new painting spot! Got a few pieces to move then I can start arranging. Will see WIP models scattered about.

And also been focusing on what models I need for my second theme army. Thinking of their story and locations for the models. Still need to write the fluff up but having issues getting it out.
Their main colour scheme is black with a white face, lower tribe members have roughly painted red markings while higher like Priests are much neater and show symbols.

Cool place!
When are you going to show us the Santa Claus with Christmas train model, that is still boxed under the table? Would really be cool! *joking*

Well not really a model *laughs* All my Rippers and Terradons hide with the bases in there.
:)
Just a decorative box I got from my sister.

Did some more work on a practice paint scheme for the new Lizards, used Balthsar Gold base, used some Leadbelcher and put a green glaze over, the wrist just has the gold and glaze. Did some more highlighting for the black. When I get the final scheme ready, the models will be much neater.

Looks good, you think a slightly different crest colour to help bring out the face?

Looks awesome! Like a Ninja Skink!

I agree with Crowsfoot, I might paint his crest (fin?) thingy a different color just to make it pop a tad bit more (maybe a blue). The overall look of your paint scheme is very cool based so I'd stay with that. Otherwise you work against the overall purpose of being ninjas.

Thanks everyone :)
I might try and go with a lighter grey for the crest, maybe with some thin blue highlighting.

Sounds good. Maybe leave the main rip(?) black for the contrast when looking at the face...

I would go light blue on the edge shading down to dark blue that way you frame the face with dark surrounding colour, then do a edge highlight in a white/blue mix.

Haven't been able to paint much lately but here is what I done before I was not able to paint.

Some Tyranids, the one on the right is painted and just needs basing. May need a bit of highlighting on the black though...

One side of the crest came out better than the other.

Finally got around to some painting last night after college, went to the workshop finally. Took a picture this morning, an hours worth of painting right here.

Spent ages debating on face colour, didn't want to go with normal tones, in the end I went with grey, with a crimson shade. I'm surprised I have still got my Space Wolves, they are not me but I can't part with them.

No painting update but more of a brainstorm post, have been recently painting a model. I hope to finish it tomorrow for posting.
For my 2nd theme Lizardmen army, I have the Skink Priest. Just debating on what to cover his face (like a mask) still need to write about this army but been a busy Lizard, Christmas, College. Yep.
Also planning a new Skink character, going to do some sketches and debate whether the fella is with my Swamp Lizards or the other.

So much brainstorming.
