Almost there, just need to paint more on the base then the basing material can go on. Working on the Plague Priest too and the contest entry has slowed down a bit, painted the metal.

in debate what to buy either a Dread Saurian or a Maw Krusha for conversion work. Depends really as I have to buy craft materials for the army on parade and other stuff.

Many thanks!
Carnosaur is near 99% complete. Might add some more ivy and maybe a bit of blood for the blood god on the base. It's a bit dark right now for pictures.

Trying to work some things out at the moment, still in debates over the Saurian or Krusha, I have a plan for the Krusha but both are good.
Plus trying to find a big piece of paper to cut to shape for the layout plan for the armies on parade.
I have been seeing some crazy amount of inspiration lately.
I saw this many times while I watched gameplay of Abzu

Reminds me of a Skink in a way but it's actually a fish, but still. Now I look more, the statue is a shark I think.
Yep a lot of inspiration but getting the time, models and money to do it. (Well selling off stuff so I get the funds for other models, off to sell Corsairs soon)

This statue does look like a skink artistan or something pretty nifty make a version of it :)

Wow! Looks spectacular. I really like those silvery blue embellishments. Looks quite good.

Got the card with all the details about the parade, so up to 65cmx65cm, the parade day is the 15 Oct
I have many plans for the Chaq'kai, need to get many painted up. I was told I can still do the parade without the board but trying to make eye-catching models will be difficult so it's kinda required for me to create the board to help out. My Chaq'kai have mixed rated models, some are a bit messy while others are just right. Annoys me, mostly because painting the obsidian, the mounted Saurus is having the issue badly.

Anyway, I'm also currently researching into colour schemes for my Tyranids, I did have the old scheme but I'm not happy with it and I have no clue how long the mixed metallic red will last.
So off to get inspiration.

Your pale-as-death carnosaur looks perfectly painted! Beautifully done! :artist:

Many thanks!
Now here is the Saurus that is giving me trouble when painting the obsidian

For some reason it came out bad compared to the other models, maybe it was overdone too much? Too messy?
Still working out what went wrong.

Sweet contrast between the obsidian and the saurus skin!! I can´t see either what went wrong, I quite like it! :)

I'm not seeing anything wrong either. Looks so cool! Maybe we need more angles, but I think you've done a brilliant job here!

I think it's just you, this is gorgeous! I really like what you have done here. This model just looks so damn good!

I like the color scheme of the old blood (black obsidian body color and armor, striking white head) but I am not sure about the blue, obsidian is normally more mirror like? Maybe switch some of the blue for grey? I have never attempted anything so ambitious myself so I am searching for any tips o how to paint obsidian in miniatures, so far all I have come up with is necron terrain... :(

Maybe mute the blue a bit? Make it a bit darker? It reminds me of what I have seen painted on dark eldar incubi before

Hope this helps or gives you ideas. Moar pictures!

Obsidian is usualy purple but it exists Green and blue varisnts. And it is usualy best to not go completly grey on miniatures as colours in black is more pleasing to the eye.
So continue ahed myth :) lovley oldblood.

Yes, the issue with going grey is that it will blend in with the black scales. Obsidian is a strange one, a mix of colours, reflective.

The blue is applied more on the edges compared to the saurus. It seems to be a varying situation with the blues depending on how it's been applied.

I see your point. I really like how that skink looks! If that is the look you are indeed going for, please drive on!!! The skink is incredibly deadly looking, almost in an undead "kill-all-the-skaven" kind of way.
