Blog Nefertem's Painting Blog

Thanks for the input. I was thinking something easy for the shields, more in the neutral side of colours. Actually I am musing about earth tones (graveyard brown as base and then lighter up to bleached bone and a quick wash). Would make painting them rather quickly. Red was also an option, but I'm unsure if it won't be too much colour, as I tried to keep colors on the skinks).

@Aginor
Colours I used:
Prime white,
base colour Macharius Orange.
Then layering with a 50/50 mix MO/Gitz Yellow
Next layer only edges with GY.
After all is dry apply bloodletter (glaze). Finally bring back the highlights with GY.

So long

I really like this, comes off as very firelike, almost like a sunrise, I think you've done this brilliantly.

Yup, wings look great! What color are the Skink riders going to be?

I kept them blue. So that there's a strong complementary contrast to the rippers. In fact as my r&f skinks I showed earlier in the thread.

Sooo..After a long time I finished the Rippers. I only have to paint Te'Ki'La..Don't know why I forgot him when painting the rest.

C&c always welcome.

Tomorrow I'll play my first aos battle...
If possible I will try and make a battle report.

Very nice colors!
Love the Skink, and the color contrast to the Tequila Sunrise paint scheme of the Ripper is magnificient. :)
