AoS New Battletome, have dino lists gone extinct?

It cannot average 4 or 5 damage, because it only does 3, 6, or 9 damage.
That is why I said it usually does 6 damage, and sometimes it swings high and does 9 damage. This is a dice game after all!

 

It cannot inflict 4 or 5 damage in any one round, but it absolutely does average exactly 4 damage a shooting phase over multiple shooting phases against a 4+ save, without buffs.

If it were to shoot 3 times, it would most likely do 3 damage twice and 6 damage once, or equivalent. That's 12 damage in 3 rounds, for an average of 4 per round.

With All Out Attack on all three attacks, it would most likely do 6 damage twice and 3 damage once, or equivalent. That's 15 damage in 3 rounds, for an average of 5 per round.

Is that worth 3 precious command points for 3 more wounds over 3 rounds? Maybe, if you have a surplus or are targeting key targets, but it will depend on the situation. It's not going to be worth the command point every shooting phase.
