Oh yes, was about to post that link myself!

I'm so glad to see the dual-kits in there, interested to see the Sotek Ark/Solar Engine (Guessing it's Chotec inspired?) and whatever the Priest on Troglodon is; hopefully they'll be less killable now. And Scar-vets on Carnosuars? Nice! Perhaps they were the basis for Carno MC. Just really want to see the rules/pictures now.

    Overall, I'm much happier.

Very excited to see some of these models in pictures now! No further word on magic cards or lore though. Come on White Dwarf this is the month to arrive early!!

Huh, a set of magic cards means the Lizardmen will get their own lore, right? Maybe it's something time related, temporal manipulation heavy, as there is a new model called Skink Oracle.

Only if the plastic crack rumor is true. The Dakka list did not mention new magic cards.

if this is true, Carnosaur cavalry is implicit:

"Heroes and characters may join eachother as a unit"

it will be heavy costly and come from the Heroes points, but Scarvets and oldbloods could run together in a pack that would make skullcrushers abbandon ship!

Oh lordy I beg this to stick with the truth!

    unless spawnings are back?

.... no new models, sure... but you can always make some cool Saurus conversions yourself to symbolise the infantry difference :D

Latest White Dwarf Daily seems to confirm a LM release more officially:

    :D

Although it seems a lot less effort went into this one than some of the others: where's our flying shadow?!

Alright lads, I was just at my local store and his GW guy called for his orders. Lizardmen preorders are up, release for August 3rd (Obviously). Everything in the Dakka post was confirmed. ALSO, there is confirmed a set of magic cards for our own lore. Additionally, the "ripperdons" were described to him as a fast attack type thing, perhaps with ambush rule or something like that, the man was not very clear on that note. I was excited to hear it all confirmed first hand though! He is also gonna let me have a peek in the white dwarf on Wed, rather than waiting until Sat. I will keep you guys posted.

I posted some of my thoughts over at Warseer, but in short:

Scar-Vet Carnosaurs are cool, but not if the Carnosaurs still aren't viable. GW track records on the strength of new releases aren't always good, either (see: Mutalith). In better news, Skink Oracles suggest our much anticipated level 4 Skink Wizards, and this kit should have a ton of bits and parts with hopefully some options to put unused characters on foot (ala Skycutter and Chaos Chariot).

Skink Monstrous Cavalry will suck unless they are specialised, or the mount is extremely tough. I don't have a lot of faith in GW getting this right. My worst fear is 3 strength 4 attacks (including the Skink), 5+ Armour Save, and some situational Unique Special Rule for which they are overpriced. Call me a pessimist.

Bastiladons. Buffwagons ahoy! These guys will hopefully be a bit like Empire buffwagons with one as support/synergy and the other direct damage zappy. Both of them will hopefully take up the nerfed Slann slack, and with any luck good at zapping Daemon Princes.

Still sad there's no Saurus MC or new infantry, and although I'm apprehensive I definitely pumped now.

Ugh. See my previous post on situational unique special rule. Given that we have scouting Chameleon Skinks and Vanguarding Terradons, I don't see what purpose Ambushing Ripperdons will have.

    Get us more info! :D

Going from the name I would guess they where some sort of close combat terradon like unit.

Another edition and another change to the terradons, nothing really exiting in the book that I can see.
I must be getting to old for the hobby as adding a stupidly big centre piece model does not excite me :depressed:, I just cant wait to field all those stupidly big monsters, so my opponent have nice targets for all those cannons that every one is getting. And we get skink flying cav, ooooh yes the Scull Crushers are in trouble now :rage:.

I just hope the book is playable, as the new releases and GW tendencies are disappointing :shamefullyembarrased:.

While another flying unit doesn't sound amazing in itself (I count myself amongst the pessimists here), bear in mind there's a new book too - everything has the potential to change!

Ok, the Slaan will probably be nerfed at least in some respects, but imagine if they made carnosaurus decent? Or Saurus Cav? I remember hearing somewhere there was talk of sacred spawning coming back.

In short - don't give up till you've seen the new book :p

If they make Saurus Cavalry viable I will literally squeal for joy and buy another box.

For real? The last 3 releases have been really good. Yes, even Daemons. High Elves are some of GWs finest work to date in presenting multiple, competitive builds. The Warriors book is solid, once you exclude how OP the Daemon Prince is, and including it makes it one of the strongest books (just look at the number of Warrior armies in the big tournament scenes. In Australia just recently it was something like 20% of all players, with similar numbers at SCGT).

Going back further, Empire seems pretty reliable if a little uninspired and Ogres are still strong, though seem to have been knocked off their topspot by the Warriors. The only bad release this cycle has been Tomb Kings, and I think we can chalk that one up to teething problems.
