Wow some of thats pretty steep, as expected. And for me in canada I'll get it bumped up another 5-10 Bastiladon, Book and Cards - For sure Carny/Rippers - Would have to be pretty sweet to send me that way.
Only if the slaan keeps loremaster. Which is possible but it could easily be removed, making it not as good.
also in a non-tournament enviroment this would be pretty lame....im still hopping we get our own lore, themed in lizardmen/old ones fluff....
I predict that we'll lose the extra freebie casting dice and the cupped hands... but that we'll keep the ability to be a loremaster so that Slann aren't overly nerfed. Most likely they'll get some different and less powerful abilities, to still keep them special but not uber powered. I'd like to see them be able to bunker in any saurus unit and be set in the third rank instead of the second.
For those of you not following the warseer thread, check this out for blurry pics: http://es-es.twitch.tv/miniwargaming/b/434429657 (skip to minute 37).
I love the new carnosaur kit, the new high priest is cool, but IMO all the other models look HORRIBLE, the ankylosaur things are ok, but the do hickies on top look awkward, the terradon wings look like butterfly wings and some of the poses look cartoony. I can see some glimmer of hope if bitz sites part some of this stuff out, because at least that way I can make things look decent. Its such a big letdown after seeing some amazing multipart kits from the other armies (skaven, OK, and Chaos jump to mind). If you guys like this stuff, more power to ya, but Im so let down.
Can someone post pics? Apparently I need Adobe flash player on my phone, which it won't let me download, thus making this the first video I have ever been unable to watch and the one video I had been most eager to watch.
Just checked out the video. I like everything I am seeing for the most part. Not sure what I think about some of the paint jobs (The leaf colored armor plates, and the neon colored feathers) but the models themselves look fine to me. Not sure how I feel about the snake pit thing on the back of the Bastiladon, but I will reserve judgment until I read the fluff and see what combat effects it has. For all we know the snake pit thing is hideously powerful haha I also thought I made out on the title of the magic card cover, that it said "Lizardmen Magic" Perhaps something a little more our own rather than just High Magic? I am interested to see what a skink oracle does. What I really like is the opportunity to bring more color into my army with those big monsters. Right now its mostly blue, but my carno is red and I have an ancient stegadon that is green. Sorry, the hobbiest side of me is starting to run wild with ideas, thank God for this release, SO PUMPED!
As a side note, I have to give my opinion here on these models, I do not understand all the negativity on Warseer over these models. I guess a lot of people wanted straight up dinos. Personally, I like the more Avatar - Pandora look they gave to these beasts. Gives them a more unique look and goes with the theme they have always vibed in the army books where the lizardmen are "alien" in look and feel. This kind of response to new models online always gives me and my friends a laugh as we think back to the whole "I don't understand its big tusks!? How does it even eat!" non-sense with the Ogre Thundertusk.
They look as ugly as the WoC releases. I couldn't buy a single new model. And ended up massively converting. you mean the Warriors book, that the best 2 builds don't field any warriors, or Empire, featuring KFC and no infantry. The books lose out on fluff but gain stupidly large miniatures. If I wanted stupidly big minis and nothing else, I'd play 40k. I just hope the book is flexible, thus playable. Or seriously under priced, as tactically big monsters bring only drawbacks in the long run, with GW tendencies the new stuff is good, and that means the book will become much weaker, as the only new unit we get is teradons, and a more expensive steg, which no competitive build use anyways.
Thanks. Those new dinos look awesome imo (might be a bit biased because of my life-long love of ankylosaurus), but I cant decide what to spend my limited budget on.
I'm a bit disappointed at the lack of coautl, but what we've been shown look good to me. They're more dinosaur-inspired fantasy critters than actual dinosaurs, but that's a trend that's been well-established. Still. Needs more couatl.
I just need to know if sacred spawnings are back, damnit! Everyone knew we'd be getting some sort of big kit, I'm okay with that. Looking forward to a proper look at the models and find out about them. Stoked about the plastic terradons and curious about the Rippers. Plus the lord-hero-rare multi-kits are awesome, glad we got some. However! I want a more interesting Core section. Everyone but Ogres has a bunch of options in their 8th edition books as far as I know. (Admittedly I haven't seen daemons or warriors personally.) Hell even the poor Tomb Kings have plenty of options. Guess I'll just have to wait and see!
I like the carno! Also the troglodon can come out of rare, that could be fun. I'm not sure on the turtle, it just doesn't look very exciting. Ripperdactyles, they just don't seem right. Not to mention the incredibly creative name I like the sound of the new skink oracle/ high priest. Gordon rok looks like a monkey... I can't see enough of the skink special characters to judge. I'm very excited about this release!
I am torn. I love it between bouts of hating it for looking like a pokemon A wild Bastilodon has appeared!
Really hoping it's like it looks, with both of the big kits on 100x50 bases. Managable to transport, not auto-cannoned so easily... C'mon moderately sized dinosaurs!
