Pshh I wish, Nope I am using the same source everyone eals is using, some commisioned painters where reading a advanced copy of WD that they read on their webcast, sadly these guys where obviously 40K player and didn't go into a lot of detail, oh and their webcam was realy low resolution. http://es-es.twitch.tv/miniwargaming/b/434429657
Yea, that sucks! Everything that I want to pick up is going to run me $60 bucks. There is no way that I could justify a $50 Tetto model either. I will make my own (using an old Pallaquin and a skink priest).
Why is it so much cheaper in the States!? The Canadian dollar is just about the same right now! So angry.
From the looks of it, I wll get the army book and the cards. Not much else. I already own 5 or 6 terradons. At that point, the only thing that I do not have is the bastilidon. I am not a huge fan of the Carnosuar, and I have one already.
Try living here in Australia then, those 60 dollars (*edit* actually the 50 dollars) are 83 dollars here - even last year when out dollar was worth more. Meanwhile, GW actually wonder why their models don't sell very well here.
I atleast figured that would be the release day. If preorders are this Saturday then it should be released the following Saturday.
I seriously don't think I can afford this hobby anymore.. From now on it'll be either recycling, converting or eBay...
Another point: given that the LM continue to be adorned with feathers, including the now super massive Tetto Eko palanquin feather, one has to wonder where all those feathers are coming from....and why is there no Coatl model in the new book!
well maybe we will get lucky and there will be a second wave of models released... but I wouldn't hold my brreth.
From over on Warseer: "I've just managed to get a good look at the new white dwarf in my local GW and I must say the new lizardmen are amazing. I was a bit worried with the rumours of large dinosaur monsters going by previous incarnations like the slaughterbrute for one and a few others Which I felt we're a bit too like child's toys and looked very CAD produced. The new Carnosaur box is fantastically detailed and the paint jobs in white dwarf really so it justice. They seem a lot more mature and don't just look like dinosaur toys. The new Bastilodon is great and I really like the look of it nice and squat but tough looking. The skink chief, croq gor and skink high priest are all also very nicely done. Highly detailed models. And the terrodon/ripperdacty box if my favourite by far, they've really updated the old models and they both look great and very distinctive. The flaming bola weapons look pretty cool too along with the hero on the terrodon. All in all this is looking to be my favourite release for a long time." Too bad he didn't post any info on the magic cards or rules from the battle report, since...you know....that is what everyone is asking about right now!
I know right Apparently he only had time to look at the pictures quickly, but the first think I will do is flick to the battle report and check out points costs/special rules, etc.
From Dustin Bainbridge at Bell of lost souls: So they are frenzied flying monstrous cavalry ridden by Skinks. Gee, what could go wrong?
Well I know I have said this before, but my local guy said he would let me have a look at his when it came in. He gets his stuff in the afternoon so I will either get a peak at it in a few hours or I will have to wait until tomorrow. And the FIRST thing I will do is check out the cards, then battle report, and the SECOND thing I will do is jump on my phone and post the good news to you gentlemen!
stormturperTK41 - a portion of my sanity is in your hands, I'm eager for your report Interesting about High Magic, I kinda wanted our own lore but I've always been curious to try High - it fits in fluff-wise anyway. Not so disappointed with the turnout, except maybe the attribute: I'll have to wait to see it first. I like the name 'Contemplations' however, just makes me think of a day-dreaming Slann in the middle of a chaotic battlefield! Considering it is a rather Slann-like name for an attribute, I wonder if HM will be available to the new High Skink Priest too? "Becalming Cogitations", I guess that could be confirmation that Disciplines are still there then. I didn't really doubt that Skrox would be removed, but it's nice to have confirmation all the same. The Rippers are what make me the most curious, despite my earlier disinterest the models are growing on me. Hopefully they'll make a good support unit.
