I think the left column is US Dollars and the right hand one is perhaps Canadian dollars? Not sure but 8 I assume the two are different currencies.
Wow, seeming as I am going to need at least three carnosaurs/troglodons I may have to break out some of my mold making gear and save 200$ Maybe the rules will change my mind and I will only need one.
The Unstoppable Stampede could be something like the Tomb Kings' Necrolith Colossus' Unstoppable Assault: Each unsaved wound it causes on a charge will generate one extra attack. And maybe the Sharpened Horns would do the same as the current Stegadon Warspear do. Those new and better pictures are great, they show so much more. I don't think the Bastiladons are even remotely similar to anything Pokemon-related and to me look closer to realistic dinos, with a bunch of details that keep them going too realistic, something which I'd hate to see in Fantasy models. That new Skink High Priest is a beautiful model, I like the pose and the head a lot! Ripperdactyls I'm still a bit uncertain. The wings are not too butterfly-esque, but quite Avatar-like. Need to see them a bit better to make my mind about them. I'm really really disappointed that we got the same High Magic as the High Elves got. It is a good lore, and is fluff-appropriate, I guess, but it's just boring we got the same one. A fresh lore would have been more exciting. And the lore attribute is really confusing, but definitely sounds strong. Fearing to see the euro prices of those things...
Hello all Jumping in late to the discussion took a bit to catch up 49 pages and all The unstoppable stampede is likely as you say, although I think it may be attached to impact hits, just a feeling. Sharpened horns made me instantly think Armour Piercing, or ignores armour saves... won't know for sure for a bit, but i am excited to see what we get, and I am already looking forward to figuring out how to get the best conversion value for each kit always new armies when funds are low
I'm so glad we're getting Jeremy Vetock writing our book! I play O&G and that book is so much fun. Can't wait to see what Vetock is doing with lizardmen. He also seem to be a designer that really like the game and want it to be fun and balanced to play. The new pics of the models looks nice, will probably pick up everything plastic. More dinos are better!
From Bell of Lost Souls: Hopefully this means Saurus will retain their 2 Attacks with the Predatory Fighters rule.
I don't think its really a problem if they don't, I just won't field them. 1A Saurus would make the decision between using Saurus and Skinkrox as your minimum core incredibly easy... And I can't envisage ever using more than the bare minimum of core units with so many awesome monsters on the table.
Would it be that broken? Looking at Chimera as example also for 290 odd points they get a flyer with regen (4+)?, breath weapon (s4), tail swipe (+d6 attacks at monster's strength) and I think 4 attacks base? we get impact hits they don't have...we only move 6" Maybe I am not subjective here but would be awesome Sharpened horns...maybe AP?
So I'm guessing we also have acces to the HM cataclysm spells for Storm of Magic, but the HE can't use ours?
the 1 A sarus i think is actually much more of an issue for our temple guard it would make our "elite troop" type rubbish i cant see them doing that
I wonder how it will affect the champions if we keep the current Attack stat with Predatory Fighters?I can't imagine them having 3+1 Attacks. Maybe they'll keep the Champion at 2 and increase WS/Str?
4 strength 4 attacks seem to be encroaching on character territory, and I can't see GW allowing a core choice to do such a thing. Although, it's hardly a rigorous rule structure they have and I wouldn't complain if they did get 4 strength 4 attacks!
Im on the opposite wagon : I hope the saurus gets 2A + the Predatory Fighting so I will have a reason to pick instead of "I want to cause they are my favorite" Skrox units have taken over due to price and efficiency, if Saurus gets more fighty they will make sense again as infantry blocks, and Skrox would go back to what they were ment to be = monster pits. I think it would really lift the Core if the Saurus had their renaissance! its not even that OP... to my calculation a 24 (6wide) saurus block with FC only get 3,16 extra attacks on average. meaning 22.16 compared to their original 19. buuuut.. add Bironas Timewarp, rerolls or horde and I think it will start to escelate.
I hope that bonus attacks we get are also subject to predatory fighter a la unstoppable assault. That would be truly epic.
I occurs to me that the yellow headed skinks and the orange headed saurus are probaly sacred spawings, since the other units next to them are using the standard paint scheme, and well GW usualy isn't that adventurus about coming up with random new paint schemes.
made the same conclussion, confidently. They wouldnt make extra efforts just to be dicks.....or would they?
