Sorry, why do you say "we just have Skinks and Saurus in Core"?

Cause those are the only troop options on GW's page under Core. Plus the old 5th edition skink command, which is dumb.

    From the website:
    Sounds pretty bland :(

Its just sad to look at that page. Go glance over the Empire or Warriors or Orcs Core pages... :(

Some of the Skink poses on the Teradons look a bit awkward, mainly one holding a spear....similar with the Oracle too, Looks like there's enough choice to avoid this though.

Actually quite like the design of the Sotek Ark now I've seen ti from above. Not so keen on the Solar Engine, although I do like the hand-print,

Gor-rok looks better, and his shield is lovely, but Ii still don't like his fist-pump.

    Even Dwarfs have more options...

So what, we have Skirmishers, Skrox, Regular Skinks, and Saurus? Is that how they're going to split them up in this book? I don't see how else they could put the standard 4-core troop options in there.

Haha, he does. But who wouldn't? He gets to solo one of our newest and biggest beasts!

Not sure if anyone has answered this yet but does anyone know when the pre-release comes out and when in August does the actual new stuff come out (early, mid, or late August)?

On the new stuff in particular:

While I am excited and look forward to the new stuff that we are getting especially our own LORE!! With the exception of a few strange/awkward/goofy looking poses as mentioned by others already, I am still a bit disappointed to see that our core choice range still hasn't expanded any :-/. Plus, our cold ones are still retarded looking (literally). Perhaps these two things will get spruced up from updated here and there once these are released.

Again though, still looking forward to all the new stuff we are gonna be getting :).

What I'm really hoping is that they make up for our lack of troop variety with some new options on our Saurus, I mean skinks are one thing blow pipes javelins it is what it is

What I want is more options on our Saurus, great weapons perhaps? Possibly ad.hand weapons? Just give tem more options so we can atleast field variety within our limited selection

I know that our core kits haven't gotten a redo so we wouldn't have the modeling options but Chaos Warriors kits dot have. Great weapons and halberds in their kits but they still have all the options. I'm hoping we get a similar treatment mostly great weapons on Saurus

I think TG are kinda our alternative Saurus. AHW Saurus would be awesome! But I don't understand them fluff-wise.

Was really hoping for CoC in core, with maybe a nerf (not that they are too good, but maybe too good for core the way they are).

It would have been cool to see CoC in Core. You know what though it is entirely possible we may have another core choice that just hasn't gotten models yet in the new book maybe they will do waves and leave us on our own for a while till wave 2 guess we won't know till the book comes. I mean you figure if they're trying to push the new big kits releasing infantry wouldn't help so maybe they're holding them back. Or who knows maybe our skinks are changing to become more combat oriented if we wish like south land skinks that are warriors so they're a bit better in combat and should be taken in big hoard blocks. It would be cool if we had skinks with poison melee weapons that be nice.

On the subject of skinks it be awesome if we got a magical standard like the banner of Sotek or something maybe it could cause terror in Skaven and give a unit poison attacks that be cool

Taken from the GW store description for Basti:

"The keen eyed will notice that the firing mechanism of the Solar Engine has enough space for a four-fingered creature to fire it, yet the Skinks themselves only have 3 fingers."

What could that mean? Perhaps an option to use it as a mount for something else? I think all our units have the same amount of fingers, perhaps a new sub-species that won't get a release until the second wave? Or did GW just screw up the design, not catch it until too late, and decide to play it off as intentional?

I don't think so, I believe it's a reference to the fact that the Old Ones designed the Solar device, and had five fingers, not four.

Ah ok. Where did you find that? I'd love to read as much LM related fluff as possible (thinking of writing some and every detail counts)

But back on topic, I hate not knowing more. I'm tossing up on whether to pre order a basti or a Carnosaur/trog with my army book but I just know that I'll regret my purchase as soon as I look at the book.

Or...made it for the Elves... aka. Bioengineering Project Version 2.0

I think its a reminder of the Lizardmen tragedy: they try so hard to fit the part that they THINK the Old ones would want them to play in their plan, but really its a task they no longer fit and probably never was intended to caretake.

The tragedy is that they will never get any form of carthasis, and they will never give up the task. The old ones are eradicated and the Slann themselves is a dying breed, yet they spend every single thought towards the "plan" .

.... I wonder what would happen if Slanns started focusing on the present and NOT calculating variables towards outdated goals.

100% unlikely. GW doesn't release rule without models anymore, because they fear (proabably rightly) that other third parties will make their own models. This creates all sorts of legal problems when GW finally get around to releasing theirs and/or enforce their copyright.

Saurus with hand weapon or spear, Skink Cohort, Skink Skirmishers, and Skink-Kroxigor is our Core now and for the next few years :(

Is there any chance that they are just waiting to update the website? and terradons move in, making room for rippers in special?
