Wait they HAVE TO go in the second row? There goes the horde bonus/MI supporting attacks from the third tank idea. Seems like every time we think of a way to keep Skrox viable a new rule emerges to make it unusable. Hopefully the krox bodyguard idea works or they'll be next to useless.
I've got the digital rulebook and have read it through. Overall I like it, time will tell how it will play out on the battlefield and I will test all new unit before I judge them to hardly. I like that we aregiven more varierity, that' s allways a good thing in my book. I love all the small synergy stuff that is sprinkled throughout the book, I think that can be used to set up some nice nasty combos. Also highmagic seem super powerful for us and being able totake all sig spells also promise for some fun games. I'm glad aswell that we didn't loose the access to the brb lores (even though sadly we can't loremasterthem anymore). I'm gonna play my first game with the new book tomorrow, looking firward to it!
Keen on making a batrep for it? I'm sure there will be a million people besides me that are wanting to see how some of the new stuff works on the table.
Sorry if someones already posted this, but scar-vets can now ride carnosaurs. Guess it's GW's way of getting us to buy more carno's, but it's still pretty cool. *EDIT: I guess America got it before UK, cos mine's arriving today.
Sure! I'll take snazzy photos and everything! I think I'm gonna run with scar vet on carnosaur, a bastidon and the rippers. Might want to put together some swarms to try the synergy effects. Pts size will be 1500-2000 pts.
Good for you, I'll have to wait a few days more for mine. But at least it will be prettier. Now tell us about all the sweet stuff no one noticed yet.
I don't know if this is any different from the prev book but the stegadons giant bow can fire on the move (not march), 36" st5 poison multiple wounds(d3). Works like bolt thrower. Poison onlywork on first model. Also I've noticed we have a lot of fire weaponry, that's gonna be handy against trolls and hydras!
I believe that's the same rules for the giant bow although im not sure if we could move and shoot with itbefore as I never used it. just checked you could move and shoot and there were no armour saves allowed
Here's a good one, on page 35, Temple Guard: Guardians: A model with a Mage-Priest Palanquin special rule who is in base contact with a model with the Guardians special rule automatically passes any Look Out Sir roll he is entitled to make
Carnosaurs have 2 optional upgrades: Bloodroar: Enemy units must roll an additional D6, discarding the lowerst result, for Leadership tests to resolve Fear or Terror effects caused by this beast. Loping Stride: A model with this upgrade has the Swiftstride special rule. Stegadons have 2 optional upgrades: Unstoppable Stampede: A model with this upgrade has the Devastating Charge special rule. Sharpened Horns: If a model has this upgrade, it's Impact Hits have the Multiple Wounds (D3) special rule.
sharpened horns is really good guys! imagine doing that to lets say ogres! i got my book yesterday and i read most of it i can say i think the book will be a bit better than the previous one. Some good combos will come out, and yes its sad what is happening to the skrox unit but we can deal with it!
How much are the steggie upgrades each? Can both the ancient and the regular steggie take them or is it just the ancient?
Stampede is 5 x Skaven Slaves, Horns are 10 x Skaven Slaves, and they can be taken by regular or ancient steg.
They're cheaper, can get extra attacks from Predatory Fighter, and the Slann automatically passes Look Out, Sir! when in the unit with them. He also doesn't have to go in the unit, in case you wanted that option.
