AoS New player, 1000pt army?

Hello, I'm new to Age of Sigmar and
enjoy the lore that lizardmen have. For a 1,000 point army I was going to buy the start-collecting box and some other thing, but I haven't bought anything yet. Any advice is appreciated.

1 Saurus Old-Blood on Carnosaur (General) (260)

1 Saurus Sunblood (120)

1 Skink Priest (80)

20 Saurus Warriors w/ Clubs (200)
10 Saurus Warriors w/ Spears (100)

5 Saurus Knights (90)

20 Skinks (120)

990 points total


This is the other one I was thinking about, it doesn't have the SC box.

1 Saurus Sunblood (general) (120)

1 Skink Priest (80)

1 Bastiladon (280)

15 Saurus Guard (270)

20 Skinks x2 (240)

990 Total


I've never player any Warhammer outside Total War so I don't know how well any of this works. Also what weapon is reccomended for Skinks?

I think your second list is the better choice between the two.
