The thing i am more waiting for, is a complete rewrite of our old warscrolls, to align them with the current strenght of our counterparts
Given the notes in the war cry book I would guess that we will see a retheme around physical warriors not remebred. They will be out questing for old one tech and we will spells focused around these. Along with this I would guess any new models or machines will be again linked to a quest for old one tech or using some that the have found. I would be excited to see a mix up of saurus so some could have been around in the realms for awhile and are more clothed while those with the slanns look more like what we are used to. This could be what we get with a warcry band if they do any with some going feral.
mwha, there are still some options that would be plenty unique. - Snake-themed stuff, especially if you go for symbolic stuff like an ourobos - A big charging reptile like the doomfire taurus, corpsemere stampede or the sylvaneth wyrm. - Constalation based things, have us drop down a handfull of models that together form a constalation and have some effect on anything within the constelation like the shards of vallaghar. - Some old-one themed stuff, which can pretty much be anything. And then there's of course the less inspired possibilities, like a floating reptilian face like dreadfull visage, malevolent moon or gnashing maw.
Finding myself looking at that one Tzeentch spell with the two LoC heads. Then I look at the two LoC in my display cabinet. It looks like they just copy and paste the heads onto some flames and called it a day. Knowing some KO players they might be a little disappointed with the lack of spells and such but they have hopes they will be able to take more as battleline. As for our possible Endless Spells, I can see a swarm of sorts. A large tide of snakes and lizards. Next one being a serpents head. The last one... Not thought of anything yet.
And what if we are not getting spells at all? Look, two new battletomes, no terrain, only one endless spells box. GW became very lazy by the end. Really sorry for Ironjawz. But if we are getting something new, I'd bet on jungle swarms spell. It is very obvious solution and very fluffy. Terrain is either a spawning pool or kind of pyramid with engine of gods on top. Rumor Engine tail is probably our hero. New scar veteran on cold one or on larger saurus?
I do want to point out that even though Aetherwar is coming out next week, and the books, one set of spells, and dice are known, this reminds me of the Skaven/FEC release a lot. They might surprise us and show off more of what is to come for KO and maybe for Tzeentch. No dice for KO really seems sad. On the note of our Endless spells ... What if we don't get them? But instead, we get something like Judgements of Khorne, flavored as Old One Tech. A gyroscope that speeds up units made of celestial energy, while making it harder for enemy units to move and fight? A giant stone pseudo-tesla pylon that energizes spells and shocks nearby enemies. Perhaps even a literal spawning crystal that regenerates wounded models/adds models to units. I think we are thinking too small, but I also don't want to give GW too much creative credit. But the talk of searching for Old One technology has my mind a whirl.
well in fairness, Khorne's totally not endless spells are still just endless spells. So functionaly it doesn't matter much what you call em.
Functionally, they aren't spells, as they can't be dispelled and can't be removed by conventional means. While they share the same idea, the execution is different. I'd rather something that was more permanent than them, but not a spell to take up a spellcast, especially if it's just another swarm/slow-debuff/mortal wound idea. Maybe replace relics with them? Would be interesting. Like I said, with the new lore that has come to light, there is a lot that can be done with the Endless spells slot for all armies. And since we have screenshots of more new Spessmahreenes on the rumor docket, we may have a little while longer to wait than February. Might as well get through the lore hype/theory crafting around what we have learned and what is on hand.
“And since we have screenshots of more new Spessmahreenes on the rumor docket.” Oh? Where do we have that? Is that from a shipping form?
It's functionally the same as it's a (semi)permanent moveable non-unit model usually with AoE effect that is summoned with a spellcast (or ritual) during the hero phase. The inability to dispell it is just a bit of flavour to make it unique to this faction. Just like how the bonereapers endless spells can only be controlled by the bonereapers & can't be dispelled the usual way but dissappears when you kill the hero and the casting hero suffers a casting penalty while the spell is active. These little bits of flavour are good though. They allow for more interesting things than just "and now I summon some kinda vortex thing that does D3 damage to stuff near it" there's some grainy stuff floating around on the internet supposedly showing primaris bikes and something else. Haven't seen a good picture yet though.
We will know within 24 hours if the Speeder, bikes, gravis, etc is real or not. WHC has always said something if the rumormill gets a leak that's true enough. Course, it's likely from them, as the image is so distorted that it would have to be intentionally done.
hey all it looks like KO now do our job better then we do much better teleports fun that and they can garesen there ships so it can take every one. and it's a ranged army so they don't need to make charges
and garisend troops can still hold objectives so 1 ship can count as 11-31 models for capturing move over ogers
To be fair though, it's only for big ships. One hit from a purple sun, or Bastiladon focus fire is enough to stop its teleportation
purple sun doesn't have the range to hit them and depending on where there save landed it would take 3-4 bastiadons to deel 7 wounds these guys will be monsters pluss this is the ultamit alpha shooting combo
We could also try deepstriking some Ripperdactyls and shredding it, as those guys can tear up just about anything. They would also have the necessary speed to catch them. GW seems very eager to push these guys, and the 11th is not far off. Very likely we will start seeing new seraphon stuff mid January
