Hugh was giving hard time for Ben Johnson about new profile pic. Have to love that erm "dinotease" after getting nothing solid on Open Day....
this is out of context the original post pointed to the new aelve outline and called it a new direction for seraphon. it was a joke at our expence
Given that the new Elf faction will arrive in Spring 2020, that could be any time between the beginning of March and the end of May. Therefore, given that the Seraphon update will only take a single week, it is still likely it could arrive any time in February.
I gotta say, comparing GW decision for a 40k army to a AoS army is ridiculous. For all intensive purpose you are comparing two different companies. Fantasy was failing. That is why they blew the old world up and why they decided so much needed to be changed. They literally only have so much storage space in wharehouses and space to display in stores. The inventory was also getting to large as well as failing to sell. So cutting some of the armies from the less popular format is a no brainier from GW. It sucks but it makes sense. Now was tomb Kings and Brit the right choice? Idk but cutting sisters does nothing to fix the 2 problems of space management I mentioned. It appears to have worked cuz AoS is doing okay. I believe better then Fantasy was at it's ends. So if you are upset about tomb Kings and Bret's going I feel you, that sucks, but that has nothing to do with 40k(outside of the fact it wasn't making as much money as 40k). If anything be happy. GW just released a near forgotten/dead 40k army. This means GW does have resources to spare for dead/forgotten armies and the hobby will continue to grow. I know everyone really wants updats for Seraphon and I do too, but complaining will only negativity effect your own emotions and will not get us any closer to what we want. So I for one want to see GW continue to release cool, new, creative, fun, and interesting models/rules regardless of the army.
You mean like these? https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/341744359907262466/663176719473311784/image0.png I can't talk about them because GW doesn't like people talking about them... Same here, which is why I've been resisting the urge to collect KO since they came out.
The tragedy of the Squats... Seriously though, those are some beautiful Squat conversions. Kharadron are pretty much Squats 2.0, just in a different game system. I actually prefer them to Squats because they are less Imperialised and have more of their own culture.
This. I think the fan base is solid enough that a one-week update is what they'll do. They are still good sellers. Newbies get into them because they are dinosaurs riding dinosaurs. I like a retcon or a story change where the dinos are completely physical beings again. Would be great if they brought back Kroq-gar. I've built up a Saurus Guard squad using the BB players so content for now given they dwarf the old Saurus.
I have a feeling, that Sisters could share TK and Bretonnia's fate, if GW didn't change their politics. After all, they decided on full plastic release after community survey. I believe, we will see TK and Brets back in Old World. I also don't think that TK is that generic. All factions in WHFB were generic in some way, just with certain quirks and TK absolutely were not the most generic of all. I've seen much more tech-loving grumpy dwarfs or arrogant and ancient elves than egyptian undead that are not just shambling cropses, but actually a whole undead civilizations. I am absolutely sure that their demise is not connected just to problems with licensing. They could just rename them like anything else. Back on topic, I looked at scaly tail RE once more, and I am pretty sure now, that it will be new aelven dragon.
To be fair, the elves could definitely use a new Dragon model. The current dragon looks rather emaciated, LOL! Still hope that we get a rules update at the very least. Whether or not we get new models isn't as important to me even though it would be nice.
Given the lizardmen-looking hint will probably be an Aelve mount, this makes sense from Faeit 212 (from B&C): via Vogon on B&C I had chats with various people and sat in on a couple of the seminars, which were basically just Q&A sessions. A few interesting things of note in no particular order. Lizard men will be getting their own battle tome in the future but not soon http://natfka.blogspot.com/2020/01/interesting-bits-from-new-year-open-day.html Not sure if Lizard men means Seraphon.
Of course, they were printing a new battletome once a month, but, for some reason, Seraphon can wait. From freaking 24 books, specially seraphon can wait. Why? For. Sotek. Sake. Since lizardmen in AoS are basically bunch of dead heroes and jungle swarms, I don't see any ambiguity here.
I doubt, GW have any reason to hate any factions. Plastic toys and books are just a product that needs to be sold. Of curse, they would care about more popular stuff, because they sell better=more profit (see Space Marines and SCE). But it is just... I have no words. We had the oldest battletome and out of all possible factions we have to play game with outdated rules while they prepare new fancy pointy elves (I wouldn't be suprised if they will be the most broken stuff in AoS, surpassing Slaanesh and OBR). I don't get why they won't just update all the rules for all factions and move further with an easy heart. They managed to pump a book once a month. What is so special about us? And I'm pretty sure, the models are not the case, because there were 0 aztec-themed stuff in Rumor Engine. And all lizard-stuff are now seem to be different faction. On top of that, our faction already has great rules. We just need a slight allegience and warscroll update to be on par with more recent stuff. But GW still puts us aside in favor of more chaos and death stuff (both Chaos and Death got a lot of new toys both model and rule-wise the last year, even more than SCE) and a fourth aelf faction (I won't even count CoS aelves). Forgive me my rage stream, but being forced to play a different kind of AoS every game is utterly frustrating.
