It looks like a rudder, I think that'l be part of the faction for which we saw some boat related rumours earlier on. Januari's white dwarf also has a reference to "grott scuttlers" who compete with the KO, and the way these boats look would fit perfectly with greenskins. So I wouldn't be surprised if that's a new upcoming faction.

you can use rudder on flying ships as well. So maybe a hero version of a Terradon?
Or maybe on a water based an amphibious dinosaur: Giant Tutle, Spinosaurus, Crocodile, stuff like that

I would assume they'd mostly use salvaged scrap yeah. I mean they are greenskins, using scrap is more or less the extent of their technology

Also, as someone pointed out over at TGA I think, there is at least one artwork of a KO airship with barnacles on it. So looks like some kind of Goblin air pirates is a solid guess now.

Regarding new Giants, they won't be the AoS equivalent of Knights unless GW goes totally crazy with the new models and ditches the old one. Size difference to other behemoths is not nearly as pronounced.

Well we kinda already have ours aka Saurian El dreador, with a rework of the rule he could do the job I would think anyway perhaps that why nothing came out yet!?!

Grotbag Scuttlers is a good guess, especially given that those ship bits look scrappy, or it could be an AoS version of Vampire Coast. The raven design on the ship part in the second image looks almost Norse, but I imagine that would be due to a Norse vessel being either stolen by Scuttlers or raised by Vampires.

If it's Vampire Coast then I'd say it might arrive not long after Adepticon, whereas if it's Scuttlers I'd say they probably won't appear until the summer, as GW like either releasing new factions from different Grand Alliances close together and space out different factions from the same Grand Alliance.

The Slann are supposed to be the greatest magic users. I mean they are pretty decent at the moment, but a 7 wound model that is so integral to your army feels bad in comparison to a LoC.

I want Tzeentch to see a Slaan across the table and shit their pants.
I want every time a Chaos Daemon casts a spell on a Double to take D3 mortal wounds. Every time a Chaos Daemon casts a spell on a 9+, they take another D3 mortal wounds.
I want Slaan to be able to unbind with a thought, much like the Light of DRACOTHIAN artefact, but 30" to seperate it fro. Our normal dispell, but also fit in with normal dispell range.
And that's just them not being the general.
