He did not make a mistake. You guys are killing me. Here's the text: When you chose a Seraphon army, you can include 1 Realmshaper Engine terrain feature (pg 63). When terrain is set up before the battle, any Realmshaper Engine terrain features must be set up by the player whose army they are part of, before any other terrain is set up, more than 6" away from any objectives and more than 6" away from the edge of the battlefield. Set up the rest of the terrain as described in the core rules. If both players can set up terrain features before other terrain features are set up, the players must roll off and the winner determines who sets up their terrain feature first.
RAW I would actually say you'd get to do the entire thing twice as it specifies the weapon has 1 attack, and no longer has X attacks per model. So you get 2 attacks. Which means you get to roll 1 dice per model in range, twice. So if 5 models are in range you roll 10 dice (assuming you don't split attacks of course). The main reason for this is that it's written down differently from say a kroxigor. Who doesn't have a fixed number of attacks.
Thank you for bringing this to peoples attention. I tried to bring this up before but people litteraly ignore it and don't seem to realize what kind of problem this is or perhaps they simply do not care, both reasonings are very odd to be honest. It seems people do not understand that the way how it is worded now makes our ONLY new model a huge liability to use. Imagine playing against a magic heavy or shooting heavy army, since you don't know where in which territory it will be placed and since you don't know who will get the first turn, your enemy can just go garrison inside it and use it against you.
I think people ignore it cuz it's too stupid to be true... The thing is already fairly underwhelming without this idiotic drawback.
Pitched Battle Rules count above Battletome rules. Only Warscrolls count above Pitched Battle Rules. All books are full of narrative and pitched battle rules. Hence you look at the GHB pitched battle rules. P.57 GHB2019 for FactionTerrain Rules
@Mees Yeah I've seen your posts about it, I think you were the first one to catch it. Good job on that btw., I didn't realize this at first.
For all of you debating about it our new terrain piece is placed in the exact same way as the Bonereapers Bone Tithe Nexus.
If anything, you would need to look at the latest GHB2019 Errata, the faction terrain rules got changed quite a bit pretty quickly after the release of GHB2019, because that version is almost unplayable. And where does it say that Pitched Battle Rules supersede Battletome rules?
Yeah. With the fundamental difference that our opponents can use our faction terrain, while nobody can use the OBR terrain except the controlling player.
Well, they can Garrison it, but they can't use the ability as it requires a Friendly Seraphon Priest or Wizard. So we just clear them out of it. Hopefully they FAQ it to only allow Friendly Seraphon models inside of it.
Wait a minute Wait a minuteWait a minute wait. . . A. . . . MINUTE!! Seraphon can bring bound endless spells such as "Bound Chronomantic Cogs". Does this prevent them from also bringing traditional "Chronomantic Cogs"? Like one that's 80 points and one that is 90? Can I bring two purple suns in my list? Can I double the length of a prismatic palisade? Can I have my bound purple sun on the board, cast the traditional purple sun, then cast the spell to bind the newest purple sun? (Probably a fever dream but I gotta ask.)
Most likely this is a very poorly worded attempt to say that if you have more than once piece of special terrain included in your army, like the Penumbral Engine, then you must place the Realmshaper Engine down first. I mean the text specifies that you have to be more than 6" away from any objectives, but if regular terrain hasn't been placed yet, then there's no objectives on the board to avoid yet.
Well I dont need a squad of 20-40 Mortek guard bubble wrapping my temple that now houses their Gothizzar Harvester and makes his "base" a 10" wide building for his resurrection ability. (Not to mention his -1 to hit)
Cool, that support model and huge blob are locked down there. Also gives me an idea of using it as a baiting tool for that purpose. Edit- as an note about this, Garrisoning a building has been a thing forever. People just forget to use it or don't bother with it.
Objectives are placed before terrain. And how about a cool unit of 10x Flamers of Tzeentch camping in our temple? Not so funny anymore. This whole thing needs to be sorted. People don't seem to get what amazing shenanigans you can pull with the garrison stuff. Normally we would be fighting tooth and nail for +1 save and -1 to hit on one or more units, and in regards to the Realmshaper Engine everybody is just like "yeah, whatever". You guys are weird
Yeah, and imagine, if the faction have their terrain two. If they chose the deployment zone with realmshaper, than they will struggle to place their terrain where they want it.
I don't see why we wouldn't be able to bring the regular Chronomantic Cogs as well? They are two different warscrolls, after all. It's gonna be hilarious to see Kroak on a Balewind Vortex on a Bound Balewind Vortex
