chaos Space Marines is not nearly as bloated as the Space Marine line. Also it has a lot more variation within it. if you're going to consider imperium a single Army, when you have to consider chaos a single Army as well. And even then imperium as a whole is more bloated than any other faction in any other game I have ever seen. as individual armies, the only faction that I believe within the imperium, other than Space Marines, that has a little bit of bloat is the Imperial Guard.
Another small point of confusion - when picking between Coalesced or Starborne, the book notes that all units get the keyword, except those what already have one on their warscroll. ... Only none do? Is this a standard way of wording faction choices, or is the implication that there may be another as-yet unrevealed warscroll, for a warband perhaps?
That is actually a good point as GW doesn't seem to be very good at future proofing normally so as they wrote that in I believe they are at least working on some new models. Probably only a underworlds team but better than nothing
I don't think this has been posted yet but "The honest wargamer" has their seraphon battletome review up. Was a good watch even though it's a little over 3 hours long.
I was thinking about how to make an invincible Kroak for fun, so I did. Here’s what you’ll need: Kroak Astrolith bearer Starpriest Starseer Saurus Guard Realmshaper engine Balewind vortex So, what do you have? Kroak: 4+ save, 4+ FNP, reroll 1s to save Astrolith bearer: 6+ FNP Starpriest: -1 to hit Starseer: +1 to save Saurus Guard: 2+ handoff Realmshaper engine: +1 to save, -1 to hit Balewind vortex: +1 to save You now have kroak with a 1+ save (rerolling 1s), 4+ FNP, 6+ FNP, 2+ handoff, and -2 to hit. If he takes a hit, that’s a 0.19% chance of a wound going through Against an enemy with 3+ 3+ attacks and -1 rend, they would need to make 2333 attacks to get a wound through, or 16330 to take off all 7 wounds. Have fun with your invincible Kroak!
this is them future proofing the rules. This way if they ever release a new model that already has the keyword they don't have to go back and retro-activly change things. It doesn't necesarly say anything about them activly planning something, it just makes their job in the future easier.
You can't have kroak In a balewind and in the garrison. When you cast the balewind you would place it up to 3inches away then put kroak on top. You get one or the other not both.
THIS!!!!! Oh man, this would be so great! For some reason I thought they were done with all the Beastgrave releases, but I guess I was wrong seeing as they just previewed the new Daughters of Khaine warband (unless they're just a new warband unaffiliated with BG). I really think DoK players will love this warband as it provides new poses to use as leaders and will break up the monotony a bit (also could be an interesting start to a Warcry warband). I too believe we will probably get an Underworlds warband. Just hoping they pick some good units to incorporate into it!
There was discussion about this earlier, and the consensus was that, because it is a removal from the board when garrisoning, not a move, kroak on BWV can, in fact, garrison. There was a skaven FAQ that clarified that removals and replacements while on BWV are allowed and do not dispel the BWV. So, you can garrison while on the BWV
You can cast the Vortex first and then garrison Kroak in the movement phase. You don't have to be able to move in order to use an ability that says "instead of moving", so you can garrison even if you are on the vortex and can't move. It gets a little... weird... if you cast the vortex while inside the garrison.
Pretty sure 'instead of moving' requires you to move, otherwise it would just say during your movement phase. We all want kroaknado bombing everything but let's be realistic here.
"Instead of moving" doesn't mean, that you have to move. It just means, that you may not move, if you do this particular action.
Maybe the Orbital Bombardment is our Meteor Call, thats why all the high ranking Skinks can call for one. Good technology always looks like magic!
If I preordered the Battletome , does anyone got any idea if I’ll get it on the release day or that it will just ship out on release day?
If you preordered it to your local store, they will have it release day. My local GW store said they’d have my order waiting for me release day. Not sure about shipments, but I would think you would get it the day of or maybe a couple days after.
