I also remember them saying something more akin to _at least_ one Battletome per Grand Alliance, so I wouldn't be too concerned. There is quite some time left in the year.
I have 2k+ point armies of Seraphon, tzeentch, T'au and GSC that are unpainted(I don't warhammer to build and paint..) so at least contrast paint has me pumped.
Hold on a minute before everyone starts despairing, I’m sure GW said there were going to be 3 previews in May, and Warhammer Fest is merely the second of those three - I am still annoyed that they didn’t show any new army previews in one of the biggest GW events in the world, but let’s just wait and see what the third and final May preview brings.
Well, they did buff us immensely in the last one, in fact they even overdid it so they had to nerf us in a FAQ a few weeks later. So maybe someone at GW really loves us.
https://www.ukgamesexpo.co.uk/bookevents.php?subcat=gws boop . They still havn't released warcry or forbidden power so maybe hold tight?
By the way with respect to the GHB. At this rate we're going to be needing an entire library just for those. Which seems a bit of a waste given that the most important bit in a new GHB will probably be the point values for the average player and the occasional update to their preferred faction (I'm assuming they're not going to keep on putting major updates like missing allegiance abilities or summoning reworks in the GHB and eventually move those to their respective (updated) tomes). Does anyone know if GW has any plans for changing the format of the GHB eventually? Or are they deadset on churning out a book per year of which 90% is basically going to be useless to most players but they'l buy it anyway for those pages with the new point values?
I dislike both the fact that it's an app and that it's a subscription-based model. If that's the only alternative I'd rather have several libraries worth of GHB's There's no desktop or browser based variant of the app is there? Just the phone/tablet version right?
I’m pretty sure Forbidden Power is coming next Saturday as they started releasing stories for it last week, so it should be announced this evening. As for Warcry, they say it will be coming out in Summer, so I’m assuming they will be previewing another Warband in the final May preview and will keep previewing more Warbands until around July-August I imagine - Kill Team was released around that time last year. As it appears to be the very end of May, I’m hoping they’ll get Sylvaneth out of the way and done with the Saturday after next, making it all set for the next Battletome to be previewed at the UK Games Expo.
Just the phone or tablet version. I take your point about subscriptions but it is updated approx. 3/4 times a month with all warscrolls. I find it quite useful but have to admit I also buy the Handbook as well.
I have to admit those new scenery pieces are looking very nice, and that bone bridge endless spell could make a nice terrain piece too with some modification.
