Could be, but this seems rather extreme. Plus, the build-instructions for AoS usually clearly state which bit of plastic represents what weapon if there's options to choose from. So it seems somewhat double. Also the fact that they feel they need to point out what bit of the dracoth are his claws is somewhat hilarious
Wow, new faqs, and now the EotG is a priest And the CP from sunblood it's all over table and scaly skin can't apply to MW
Yeah, both are really bad, but on the other side he doesn't start degrading until he suffered 18 wounds
EOTG gaining PRIEST is a big deal! Also got confirmation that Astrolith effects setup range of endless spells
If a command ability doesn't have a range, don't you use the big rule book ranges? The additional Priest Keyword is going to be great! They've butchered the Dread though.
they murdered the dread and the sunblood. wholly within 12" is awful and can not compete with the oldblood or even all out fighting
That is good for the EoTG. Man! GW just HAS to take away/alter command abilities that can affect multiple units. I guess, with the way the new commands are issued and received, it's more awkward to issue a "nerf command" to an enemy unit. Poor Sunblood, you were promising for two months. And monsters are good... except for our Dread. Goodbye "Roar of Ruin". Still no update for the Oldblood... just a standard command ability with a different name? (This is a "knee jerk" reaction to these changes. I know it's not the end of the world, but I just want to lament the changes...)
Oh, but the Balewind Vortex is officially back! Has that already been posted? No extra spell or additional spell range, just casting bonus and minus to be hit. A lot of caveats to cast though, ha ha ha. "Wizards that are part of a garrison, or that have a Wounds characteristic of 8 or more, or that are Unique, or that are part of a unit that has 2 or more models, or that are already on top of an endless spell, cannot attempt to cast this spell."
There was also a clarification to the "bodyguard" abilities. I've always been a bit confused about the order with saves & ward saves. Is this different from the way it used to be? If I read this right, then a Slann (or Kroak) near an Astrolith and Guard can't take the ward in addition? "Q: Some older abilities give ‘ bodyguard’ effects (such as ‘Guardians’ on the Vanari Bladelords warscroll or ‘Selfless Protectors’ on the Saurus Guard warscroll) that allow damage that would be allocated to a friendly Hero to be allocated to a different friendly unit. Can I use abilities like this before or after I make ward rolls for that Hero? A: No. These ‘bodyguard’ abilities are used instead of making a ward roll for a wound or mortal wound that would be allocated to that Hero."
I see Balewind Vortex has a warscroll again, but I don't see a cost for it, so is it still not legal for pitched battles?
I mean... wow... I guess bracketing later is nice in all... but why get rid of roar of ruin?. An extra 35 pts for later bracketing and a loss of a keystone ability(granted can only be used once per battle) but Jesus christ give me something actually worthwhile like increased rend or increased damage vs infantry or monsters or something. Christ what a fucking joke
That is a huge nerf to the Sunblood. They were actually worth considering for the first time ever but not anymore lol. I was honestly looking forward to trying one out when I get around to making a KC list...o well
im pretty sure its a nerf. Used to be Selfless Protectors would trigger before allocation and the dprs would trigger during allocation so youd get both. core rules classified all the dprs as ward saves so now if bodyguard roll fails the slann doesnt get the ward save.
