Let's not go too crazy here. Firstly, lances generally get additional rend and damage on the charge, so I'd expect to see a rule for that on the full warscroll. Secondly, I'm guessing these guys are intended to be cheap skirmish cav and aren't going to have the same melee impact as say, Aggradon lancers.
The last sentence of my previous post was meant in regard to the Hunters. The Chargers are fine. I am curious about what saves the two version are going to have. If the Hunters get 5+ (not seeing them at 6+ because they are still cav), do Chargers get a 4+ (not seeing that either)? Or some other defensive bonus because they have a shield? Or will the fact that they have a shield will just be ignored rules-wise?
I'm expecting a 5+ for both. It seems shields only mean something in AoS if there's a trade-off with a different option (e.g. paired weapons vs weapon and shield). As these guys (presumably) have a single loadout per warscroll I wouldn't put much stock in them having a save bonus. What I am very curious to see is whether the retreating abilities of Fangs of Sotek get reworked to work with units besides baseline Skinks. Running mobs of these guys diving into combat and retreating before retaliation sounds really fun. A year or two ago, tech like that would be called out as overpowered, but I actually think it wouldn't be out of place in the current state of the game.
warriors are at 2 wounds remain at 4+ save both new cave and crox are situational battle line Aggrodons get more attacks the longer they are in combat guard at 3+ save
comets call is unchanged salamanders have a second close range shot that scales based on models up to 10 skink priest is gone
Worryingly low point costs for carnosaurs there... If they still have little to no rend I'm going to lose my mind. (Edit: Clawed forelimbs up to -1, Jaws up to -2 according to the leaker. Nice.) I'll also point out that we appear to have lost Razordons, Chameleons, Sunbloods and Eternity Wardens (last of the finecast range, as expected).
Spoiler Saururs warriors at 200 points for 10 seems like a rather extreme change. Saurus guard at 130 points probably means they're still purely going to be a glorified Slann upgrade, which is rather dissapointing. Other than that very few surprises.
this is good this is very meh Saurus Warriors Are Back – And They’re Buffer Than Ever Before - Warhammer Community (warhammer-community.com)
Spoiler A couple notes not in the image: Spawn of Chotec's handlers aren't counted as models part of the unit, unlike now where it's a 1 in X type thing like warcry warbands. Hunters of Huanchi + Terrawings are back to their initial points cost they had on release, after losing and gaining 5pts respectively in the last points adjustment (because they decided 3.0 would have 5pt incriments and then immediately backpeddled so every new tome has them, and every points adjustment removes them) A little collection of leaked changes from the reddit thread Acehilator posted: Carnosaur weapons have -1 rend for Clawed Forelimbs and -2 for Massive Jaws Spawn of Chotec's second attack has an attack characteristics equal to the number of models in the unit it's attacking (up to 10) Saurus are 2 wounds, 4+ save (seems very good, given the +1 if they're on objectives) Guard are 3+ save I'm a little dissapointed in the loss of the leader role for Engine of the Gods, but it's kind of expected for a change done as balance mid-edition rather than in a battletome, I wouldn't be surprised if they lost the Priest keyword as well (and then regained one or the other at some point later, either as errata or balance changes). I really hope the Starblood Stalkers have been given some kind of major boost to account for this huge price hike, i'm vaguely hopeful because of some standout warscrolls for underworlds guys in other recent tomes (the update to the godsworn hunt from StD as a notable one, being one of the best heroes in the faction who's hamstrung from being in tourney lists only by being OOP and thus obscure) and by Kixi-Taka being the last priest left in the faction, but i'm also very prepared for him to continue to suck.
